
Thomas Nonn, Philipp Schachten
After more than 36 years at REWE, Thomas Nonn, Divisional Director Independence & Co-operatives, has decided to embark on a new chapter for himself. He will leave REWE at the end of 2026 to enable a generational change and to devote himself personally to other tasks in the future. With his expertise, great personal commitment, reliability and a high degree of identification with the company, Thomas Nonn has played a key role in developing and shaping the REWEformer concept, helping to bring REWE's cooperative identity and the importance of independent retailers to their current level. Looking back is characterised by gratitude, respect and pride in what we have achieved together. Philipp Schachten, Head of Strategy & Consulting, joins REWE Markt on 1 March as Head of Independent Retail (SEH) and Services. In this function, he will report to Peter Maly, Management Board member REWE Group and COO REWE. Philipp Schachten will use the next few months to familiarise himself comprehensively with REWE's "Independence and Cooperatives" area and his new overall responsibility alongside Thomas Nonn. Philipp Schachten moved from the management consultancy OC&C Strategy Consultants to the current Strategy & Consulting division in 2015. in 2018, he became a consultant to the CEO of REWE Group and has been in his current role as Head of Division since 2023.
Lara-Christina Sell
Lara-Christina Sell, Head of Indirect Spend in the Non-Food & Non-Commercial Goods division of REWE Group Buying, will succeed Philipp Schachten as Head of Strategy & Consulting as of 1 March. She will report to Christoph Eltze, Management Board member of REWE Group, CDTO. Lara-Christina Sell's move to the new role marks a return to her first position at REWE Group, as she moved from the management consultancy OC&C Strategy Consultants to the current Strategy & Consulting division as a Business Consultant in 2012. she was appointed Head of in 2016. in 2021, she moved to her current area of responsibility, where she has been working in her current role since 2022.
On 1 February, Mathias Cork took over the position of managing director of REWE International Finance B.V. in Venlo. Mathias Cork will be responsible for the front office, payment transactions and cash management. He will also continue his previous responsibilities in the area of supply chain finance. In his new role, he will continue to report directly to Dr Klaus Wirbel, Head of Finance. Mathias Cork began his professional career in 2007 as an International Management Trainee at Lekkerland. His last position there was as Director Corporate Treasury & Investor Relations, where he was responsible for the entire treasury division and was also in charge of Lekkerland Finance B.V. in Son/Eindhoven, where he gained extensive experience in cash management and payment transactions. In the course of the integration of the Lekkerland Group into the REWE Group, he successfully transferred the treasury function to REWE Treasury and has since been responsible for supply chain financing, including the early payment programme, as Head of Working Capital Management Finance.
Christoph Stolz
Christoph Stolz took over the position of Managing Director of Paymenttools on 1 January. He succeeds Salah Zayakh, who is leaving the company. Stolz is responsible for the Product, Sales, Marketing and Customer Success departments. Together with Dr Oliver Bernards, he will form the Paymenttools management team in future. Christoph Stolz reports to Dr Klaus Wirbel, Group Director Finance at REWE-ZENTRALFINANZ eG. Stolz began his professional career as a consultant at PWC after studying business administration. He joined the REWE Group in December 2012. Since then, he has held various management positions at REWE International Finance B.V. in Venlo, the Netherlands, particularly in the treasury front office and in payment transactions. He is co-initiator and managing director of pay.cetera B.V., which received a licence as an e-money institution in 2023 and is operationally part of Paymenttools.
With the appointment of Lara Sell as Head of Strategy & Consulting, Julian Wege will succeed her as Head of Indirect Spend within REWE Group Buying GmbH as of 1 May. In his new role, he will report to Torsten Stau, Management Non Food / Indirect Spend. During the transition phase from 1 March, Julian will already be taking on his first tasks in his new area of responsibility. After completing a Master's degree in Supply Chain and Business Administration at the University of Cologne, the trained banker began his career in consulting, where he was responsible for the development and optimisation of purchasing organisations in various industries as a Senior Project Manager. Julian Wege joined the REWE Group at the end of 2022 and, as Director Indirect Spend at DERTOUR Group, set up group-wide purchasing, established guidelines, processes and structured board reporting and most recently headed up the development of purchasing for hotel requirements. Wassilij Weber, Head of Materials Management, Paul Weide, Head of Services, and the Senior Project Managers of the Indirect Spend Task Force will report directly to Julian Wege in future.
Peter Weidemeier
Peter Weidemeier, who is responsible for production as a member of the Glockenbrot managing directors, has resigned from his position as managing director. In future, the production, logistics, sales department and quality assurance will report directly to Thomas Winnemöller, Managing Director Goods Production and Spokesman of the Managing Directors.
As part of the current organisational development at toom Baumarkt DIY store, the topics of Business Development and Strategy will be anchored within the organisation in a different form in future. Against this background, Guido Palmersheim, Head of Business Development & Strategy, has decided to leave toom Baumarkt DIY store on 31 January after more than 22 years as part of this realignment. Guido Palmersheim started as a trainee at toom in 2003 and has played a key role in the development of the company in various management positions.
Jörg Krawinkel
As part of the current restructuring, the managing directors of toom Baumarkt DIY store have decided to reorganise the Real Estate division under the management of Jörg Krawinkel . Jörg Krawinkel left the company on 31 January due to the organisational realignment. The areas of expansion and construction management will be assigned to Jochen Vogel, CEO toom Baumarkt DIY store. The areas of energy management and commercial property management will remain with the CFO of toom Baumarkt DIY store, Jan Karrasch.
Jean-Marie Malbranke
Ulf Klewitz is the new management team leader for BILLA CEE. Together with Dimitar Peshev, COO, and Martin Peffek, CFO, he forms the management team for the full-range CEE. He reports to Marcel Haraszti, Divisional Director Retail International BILLA BIPA International. Ulf Klewitz succeeds Jean-Marie Malbranke, who is leaving the company at his own request. Ulf Klewitz has more than two decades of experience in international retail, most of it within the REWE Group, where he started as Central Buyer International in 2004. After holding senior positions in strategic purchasing, he took on the role of Managing Director at PENNY Austria before being promoted to the management of PENNY International in 2012. In 2020, he became the management of REWE Group Buying for Ultrafresh 2/Purchasing and Production in Cologne. Most recently, Ulf Klewitz moved to the managing directors of the Bünting Group. Jean-Marie Malbranke is leaving the company at his own request to pursue new professional challenges. Ulf Klewitz will succeed him in the course of the second half of the year. Until then, Dimitar Peshev, GL BILLA CEE, will take over Jean-Marie Malbranke's area of responsibility on an interim basis.
Marek Andryszak, CEO of DSR Hotel Holding GmbH, will be leaving the company on 15 March at his own request to pursue new professional challenges. The company is an important part of DERTOUR's growing hotel portfolio and has been in a phase of strong growth for some time. Marek Andryszak has provided important impetus in a short space of time and successfully integrated the latest acquisitions.
