Andreas Schmidt leaves at the end of 2023
CEO Andreas Schmidt has decided not to extend his contract again and will leave the company at the end of 2023. Hanno Rieger - currently Chairman of the Management Board of REWE Region West - will succeed him.

Travel and Tourism Group
The future of DER Travel and Tourism Group was discussed at this year's International Management Days in Travemünde. In this interview, the three members of the future Executive Board, Dr Ingo Burmester (CEO Central Europe), Leif Vase Larsen (CEO International) and Boris Schnabel (CFO Group), talk about their plans for the coming year.
New management structure
From 1 January 2023, Dr Ingo Burmester (CEO Central Europe), Leif Vase Larsen (CEO International) and Boris Schnabel (CFO Group) will form the operational management team of DER Travel and Tourism Group as the Executive Board. They will report directly to the CEO of the REWE Group, Lionel Souque, when Sören Hartmann, CEO DER Travel and Tourism Group, leaves the company at the end of the year.
Change of leadership
On 1 October 2022, PENNY will open a new chapter in the company's history: Stefan Görgens will succeed Stefan Magel as Divisional Director Retail Germany of REWE Group and Chairman of the PENNY Managing Directors.
PENNY International
PENNY managing directors Ralf Teschmit and Mario Märzinger ran two shops together and offered PENNY customers the usual PENNY service on site. The employees at each shop took an extra day of holiday during this time.
