During the store days, PENNY managing directors Ralf Teschmit and Mario Märzinger traditionally run a shop together and stock the goods, provide fresh bread and pastries as well as fruit and vegetables at the market stall and offer PENNY customers the usual PENNY service on site. The employees of the respective shop take an additional day off during this time.
Being directly involved in the shop is particularly important for Ralf Teschmit: "PENNY employees are committed to fulfilling our customers' wishes every day. They are the cornerstone of our success. That's why I'm particularly pleased to be able to lend a hand in the shop myself and be even closer to our customers."
Mario Märzinger adds: "The branch days are a thank you to our employees. Teamwork is an important part of the daily work in our shops. The teams at the PENNY shops in Leibnitz and Weiz have shown how committed they are every day, not only to their customers, but also to each other."

After the store day had to be cancelled in the last two years, two winning shops were chosen this year - both times Styrian shops were able to claim victory. The two shops in Leibnitz and Weiz were selected as part of an internal competition in which the best PENNY shop is chosen each year based on selected criteria. in 2020, the focus was on the best market stall, while the shop with the best bake-off area won in 2021.
