PENNY - Back on the road to success thanks to the cooperative
by Sara Gajic

Within the Group, REWE stores in particular are known for their cooperative organisation, but PENNY also lives the cooperative values with great success. Stefan Görgens, Divisional Director of PENNY Germany, explains to us why cohesion within the cooperative has played a key role in shaping PENNY.

With around 2,130 stores in Germany, PENNY is firmly anchored in the heart of life - both with its employees and with customers in the neighbourhood. But the discounter is not only successful nationally. PENNY International has been represented as a discounter at European level for over 25 years.

PENNY faced a major challenge in 2010. But with the cooperative behind it, it managed to get back on the road to success. Stefan Görgens talks to us about how he perceives PENNY and the importance of the cooperative for PENNY Germany today.
