REWE Group - a living cooperative
Within the Group, REWE cooperatives are particularly well known for their cooperative organisation, but PENNY also lives these values with great success. Stefan Görgens, Divisional Director of PENNY Germany, explains to us why cohesion within the cooperative has played a key role in shaping PENNY.
Festival season
Even though the Festival Playground does not take place until mid-November (10-13-11), the festival season has already been a complete success for PENNY.
As a premium partner, PENNY is giving away a total of 20 tickets for the Deutschland Cup. The ice hockey tournament, at which men's and women's teams can be seen at the same time for the first time, will take place from 8 to 12 November 23 in Landshut, Bavaria.
The tickets for the Glücksgefühle Festival, which opens its doors for the first time on 14 September at the Hockenheimring, have been drawn.
Fruit and vegetables
The new regional brand "Marktliebe" puts producers and regions centre stage. PENNY organised tastings in four shops to whet customers' appetites for its own-brand products. We visited one of them and spoke to the farmer and store manager.

In REWE Group Buying, Marc Rademacher succeeds Eugenio Guidoccio, who is moving into the passive phase of partial retirement.
Annual kick-off event
To provide an overview of the most important strategic topics, Stefan Görgens, COO PENNY, invited selected areas to the start of the year. Lionel Souque praised the development of PENNY.
Southwest region
1.FSV Mainz 05 supported a DKMS typing campaign as part of a Christmas party. As the main sponsor of the Mainz 05 kids' club, PENNY Region Südwest made a donation to the campaign.
Natural tree seal
This year, for the first time, PENNY is only offering Nordmann fir trees from domestic growing regions. Around 80 per cent of these firs bear the natural tree seal, which identifies trees from sustainable cultivation.
With this year's Christmas film, PENNY wants to set an example against the divisions in society. PENNY COO Stefan Görgens explains in the one_Interview why it is important to enter into dialogue with one another.
Quality control specialists
Their relief was clear to see when they received their certificates: Just a few hours earlier, twelve employees from PENNY and REWE Group Fruchtlogistik had passed their final examination to become "Fruit and Vegetable Quality Control Specialists".

After a forced break due to the pandemic, a new IHK-certified training course for fruit and vegetable quality control specialists started in May. For the graduates of the first seminar, the effort has paid off.
