
Marcus Tonn
REWE Zentralfinanz eG and its member cooperatives have decided to have the REWE Group cooperatives audited by the newly founded REWE-Prüfungsverband e.V. in the future. The Association Council, chaired by Thomas Nonn, Divisional Director of Independence and Cooperatives, has appointed auditor Marcus Tonn, 54, to its Management Board as of 1 October. As an expert with many years of experience in the REWE Group, Marcus Tonn is ideally qualified to successfully lead the auditing association. Marcus Tonn initially worked as an auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers for almost eleven years. There he audited the REWE Group as well as other clients. he moved to the REWE Group in 2007 and became very familiar with its structures, most recently as Head of External Business Partnering.
On 1 October, Jennifer Gale took over the position of Head of Administration and Organisational Development in the Performance Management/Administration division at REWE Group Business Solutions (RGBS). In this role, she is responsible for the RGBS-wide topics of "Commercial Functions", "People Management" and "People & Culture". Jennifer Gale has held various management positions within the REWE Group since February 2005. She began her career at REWE digital GmbH in international project management and took over responsibility for property controlling and systems in April 2006. Most recently, she worked in the process organisation as Head of Real Estate Process Management. Jennifer Gale reports to Sven Höngesberg, Head of Performance Management and Administration at RGBS.
After more than 34 years with the Group, Thomas Friedl,COO and managing director of REWE digital, will retire on 1 January 2025. Guido Hoepfner joined REWE digital as the new COO and managing directors on 1 October. Hoepfner worked at SAP for eight years and managed his own consulting company in the SAP environment for twelve years before working as COO and CIO at Aldi Nord for four years. Before joining REWE digital, he worked as a partner at McKinsey & Company and Strategy& in IT/digital consulting.
Martin Fluch
Martin Fluch will be appointed to the managing directors of REWE digital on 1 January 2025 in addition to his role as CIO of REWE International AG. Martin Fluch started his career as an entrepreneur in the IT and communications sector. After selling his company to a market competitor, he was responsible for post-merger and IT transformation projects. He worked for the Telekom Austria Group for over twelve years in various management roles. Martin Fluch has been CIO of REWE International AG since 2022. Martin Fluch and Guido Hoepfner will expand the existing management team to include Stefan Matzelle, André Marburger and Robert Zores. All managing directors report to Christoph Eltze, REWE Group Management Board, CDTO.
Harald Greiner
Geography graduate and Head of Locations & Network Strategy Dr Harald Greiner retired on 1 October. Greiner is one of those rare examples who remain loyal to an employer throughout their career. His knowledge of the preparation of location analyses in the retail sector, already expressed in his dissertation, led to his appointment on 1 October 1993, and he has remained continuously associated with the subject. In recent years, Harald Greiner has focussed his activities on Retail International. Most recently, he reported to Martin Peffek.
Stefan Seibel
On 1 October, Stefan Seibel, 51, took over the role of CIO DERTOUR Germany. He is thus responsible for the entire German IT organisation. Seibel reports to Joao Gonzaga, Chief Digital and Information Officer DERTOUR Group. The travel technology expert and economics graduate can look back on almost 20 years of experience in IT management positions in the travel industry. After starting his career at DERTOUR (then Deutsches Reisebüro GmbH), Stefan Seibel moved to Thomas Cook, where he was most recently Group Head of IT in Continental Europe, responsible for all IT matters and leading a team of 300 in ten countries.
Patrick Lambertz, Boris Schnabel
Boris Schnabel, CFO and member of the Executive Board of DERTOUR Group, has decided in agreement with the company not to extend his expiring contract for personal reasons. Schnabel, whose family has been based in Vienna for more than a decade, will leave the company at the end of the year to pursue his own entrepreneurial activities.
On 1 January, Patrick Lambertz will take over from Boris Schnabel as CFO and member of the Executive Board. He will report to the CEO of the REWE Group, Lionel Souque. Before joining REWE Group, Lambertz held various positions in Corporate Finance at BASF Group. Most recently, he was Project Manager M&A at BASF SE. Since 2022, he has been responsible for the Mergers & Acquisitions | Investment Management department at REWE Group.
