Managing directors strengthened

Jan Karrasch After the managing directors of Paymenttools have consisted of Dr Klaus Wirbel, Dr Robert Zores and Salah Zayakh for the last one and a half years, Wirbel and Zores are now returning to the advisory board of Paymenttools. Under the leadership of Salah Zayakh as CEO, the managing directors of Paymenttools will be strengthened by Jan Karrasch as CFO and Anna Bejaoui as COO. After graduating with a degree in business administration, Jan Karrasch gained his first experience in group and investment controlling at a multi-industry retail company before moving to an e-commerce retail company as commercial director. He has been employed by REWE Group since 2014. As Head of Finance and Controlling, he was responsible for all financial issues and processes at REWE digital GmbH until June 2020. From the beginning of 2020, he was also part of the managing directors of ZooRoyal Petcare GmbH before being appointed CFO of IKI Lithuania in July 2020. Anna Bejaoui is a lawyer and has been working in the payment industry since 2000 with positions at US payment groups such as First Data, Fiserv, EVO and Global Payments. She was Head of Legal Continental Europe at First Data / Fiserv and held various management positions as Managing Director and Supervisory Board member. In her last position before Paymenttools, she spent four years as General Manager / Chairwoman of the Managing Directors at EVO Payments, where she built up the Sales and Marketing divisions in particular and implemented the company's turnaround.

Ergys Xhafaj replaces Maria Gerstner

Ergys Xhafaj On 1 March, Ergys Xhafaj took over the role of Head of Financial Accounting within the Partner Accountants Service Centre. More than 1,400 companies utilise this service and are supported at the Hungen, Hürth, Koblenz, Kiel and Nossen locations. Xhafaj takes over from Maria Gerstner, who left the company at the end of last year. Ergys Xhafaj started his career at REWE Group in 2008 as a controller in REWE Markt GmbH, Region West. Before moving to the head office in Cologne, he headed this department on an interim basis. At the head office, he was entrusted with the management of several merchandise management projects. From 2018, Ergys Xhafaj held various management positions in the Business Administration (BO) organisation. He reports to the Head of the Service Centre Retailers, Bernd Ziegler.

Laura Mödder heads CM Support Partner

Laura Mödder has been Head of CM Support Partner since 1 March. Mödder joined REWE Group on 1 April 2012 as a CM/EK trainee after completing her business studies. After working in CM/EK for several years, she was appointed Buyer Bio in the Own Brand Goods division in May 2016. In July 2017, she moved to the CM Support Partner division, which she has headed up as Lead CM Support Partner since November 2019. Laura Mödder heads the CM Support Partner division together with Lara Wölk, who has returned from parental leave and was previously Head of Pricing & Promotion. Both will manage the CM Support Partner division as a part-time job-sharing model. Laura Mödder and Lara Wölk will report to Mathias Lohoff, Head of Merchandise Full-range CM Support.

Sabine Schult-Kündgen leaves, Natalie Köppe arrives

Dr Natalie Köppe will start as Head of HR REWE Digital on 1 May. She will report directly to REWE Group Management Board member Dr Daniela Büchel. Natalie Köppe began her professional career at Siemens AG. There she laid the foundation for her further career, which took her through eCommerce start-ups and listed companies in Europe and Asia. Between 2013 and 2020, she worked in China, where she managed the HR department for Asia at Osram AG, among other things. She later took on the position of Head of Talent APAC at Adidas AG in Shanghai, from where her path led her to the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach. Her last position there was as Global Head of HR, where she had overall responsibility for the Digital & Tech division for 39 locations worldwide. Natalie Köppe is taking over the role from Sabine Schult-Kündgen, who is moving into the passive phase of her partial retirement as Head of HR REWE Digital with effect from 1 April.

Lena Waldhauser is HR Partner

On 1 March, Lena Waldhauser started as HR Partner in the HR REWE division as part of a parental leave replacement. She reports to Andreas Gutt, Management HR REWE. In various positions at Zalando, Lena Waldhauser became familiar with all relevant HR topics at a logistics site and was most recently responsible for the areas of People Operations & Payroll, Business Partnering, Culture, Training & Development and Recruiting as Head of People & Organisation.

Ulf Adebahr succeeds Christian Grotowsky

Ulf Adebahr Ulf Adebahr will take over from Christian Grotowsky as Head of IT on 1 June. As previously reported, Grotowsky had decided to take on a new professional challenge. Like him, Ulf Adebahr will join the Lekkerland management team as Senior Vice President Corporate IT. In addition, the 56-year-old will head up the IT subsidiary Lekkerland information systems as Managing Director. Ulf Adebahr has more than 30 years of experience in IT and transformation projects. During his career, he has also been responsible for the IT strategy and activities of various well-known retail companies. As managing director, he has worked for Schwarz IT Holding, Lidl Digital, Mediamarkt/Saturn and GS1 Germany, among others. Most recently, he supported the managing directors of a successful and retail-related technology start-up. Ulf Adebahr will report to Hilmar Hübers, Management Board Member of Lekkerland and Divisional Director Convenience COO.

Christoph Möltgen becomes CIO

Christoph Möltgen Christoph Möltgen has been appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) at toom Baumarkt DIY store for the first time. Möltgen will join toom Baumarkt DIY store GmbH on 18 March and will be a member of the management team. The former competitive athlete, qualified banker and economist can look back on a wide range of industry experience. One focus of his career has always been the establishment of a modern IT landscape, digitalisation and IT strategies and transformation processes. In over 30 years of professional experience, he has worked as co-founder of a marketing agency, as division manager of an electronics retail chain, for several years as CTO of the Otto Group and also for many years as a board member of a trading company, including for the building trade.

Dieter Zümpel becomes Chief Sales Officer

Dieter Zümpel Experienced Travel and Tourism manager Dieter Zümpel is returning to the DERTOUR Group in a new role. With immediate effect he is Chief Sales Officer for the hotel division of the DERTOUR Group. In his new role, he will report to Karl J. Pojer, CEO Hotel Division DERTOUR Group. The Hotel Division includes brands such as Aldiana, Sentido and Playitas with over 100 hotels in 14 countries. One focus of his work will be to further intensify the close cooperation with the DERTOUR Group tour operator brands and to further expand cross-brand strategies. Dieter Zümpel can look back on 28 years of professional experience in Travel and Tourism and was CEO of DER Travel and Tourism Suisse (formerly Kuoni) from 2016 to 2023. In this position, he was responsible for the integration into the DERTOUR Group.
