Kristina Jäger heads Strategic Project Management

Due to the increasing number of projects, including the international integration of the Merchandise International business, Kristina Jäger will become Head of Strategic Project Management & Organisational Development Merchandise with the same name on 1 January. Kristina Jäger joined the Inhouse Consulting division as Head of Consulting in August 2021, where she was actively involved in significant changes to the Group. Prior to this, she worked at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and the Boston Consulting Group. In her new role, Kristina Jäger reports to Hans-Jürgen Moog, CPO Purchasing / Goods.

Philip Kitz is responsible for stationery and ZooRoyal

Philip Kitz On 1 December, Philip Kitz took over as Senior Category Buyer in charge of the stationery and DIY product groups in the full-range non-food department. As part of an organisational change, some product groups will be reallocated so that Kitz will be responsible for stationery, greeting cards and ZooRoyal Non Food from January. Philip Kitz joined REWE Weller oHG as an apprentice in August 2015. Following his training as a retail merchant as part of the school-leaving certificate programme, he was taken on as an assistant store manager in 2016. At the same time, he began further training to become a retail specialist. In September 2017, he moved to REWE Group Buying as Category Buyer Assistant Hardware and was appointed Category Buyer Stationery, DIY in February 2021. He completed his part-time Master's degree specialising in Marketing & Retail in 2022. Most recently, Philip Kitz worked as a Category Buyer in the Game, Seasonal, Sports, ZooRoyal Non Food product group. Kitz reports to Tristan Finger, Purchasing Manager Full-range Non Food .

Andy Bertmann heads Central Logistics

Andy Bertmann On 1 January, Andy Bertmann joins our company as Head of Central Logistics Management. He reports to Lars Siebel, Management Logistics / Supply Chain Management. Bertmann worked at t-log trinklogistik GmbH (an Edeka Rhein-Ruhr company) from 2007 and from 2012 directly at Edeka Rhein-Ruhr in various management positions. Since 2016, he has had overall responsibility for logistics in the Rhine-Ruhr region as Head of Logistics.

Achim Scherle speaks for the managing directors

Achim Scherle Achim Scherle, Managing Director Sales Department Wilhelm Brandenburg, was appointed to the managing directors of Wilhelm Brandenburg and named spokesman. In this role, he has been assigned responsibility for the Production, Sales, Internal Sales, Logistics, Marketing, Technology/Construction, Process Management and Quality Assurance departments. He reports to Hans-Jürgen Moog, Group Management Board Member for Goods. Scherle began his professional career at Edeka. He worked there for almost ten years, most recently as Head of Organisation / IT / Logistics. in 1992, he moved to "Meister feines Fleisch und feine Wurst". He joined the company as Head of IT, then took over as Commercial Director and has been responsible for the company as Managing Director since 2010. As part of the takeover of Meister feines Fleisch und feine Wurst, Achim Scherle moved to the management of Wilhelm Brandenburg in 2021, where he was responsible for the sales department. He was appointed to the managing directors in September 2023

Christian Hörner strengthens warehouse and transport

Christian Hörner The Warehousing & Transport division of REWE International AG will be strengthened in the new year with the arrival of Christian Hörner, who will take over from Andreas Bayer after his induction and form the managing directors together with Christian Franz. As of January, he will report to Marcel Haraszti, Divisional Director Retail International Full-range Austria. Andreas Bayer will support the induction of his future colleague and then - after more than 30 years with the company - move into the passive phase of his partial retirement. In addition to managing directors in Austria, Bayer was also responsible for logistics issues at BILLA CEE and PENNY International and played a leading role in all countries. Mr Hörner had been Head of Logistics & Inventory Management at Edeka Südbayern since 2015. Prior to that, he held various logistics positions at Coca-Cola and the Schwarz Group.

Egle Juzenaite comes in for Jan Karrasch

Egle Juzenaite Egle Juzenaite takes over the position of CFO of IKI Lithuania on 1 January and thus forms the management team of IKI Lithuania together with Nijole Kvietkauskaité (CEO) and Lina Muziéne (COO). Jan Karrasch, who holds a degree in business administration and has been CFO of IKI since July 2020, is moving to the Group headquarters in Cologne as managing director of OC Payment GmbH. He previously held commercial management positions there. Egle Juzenaite began her professional career in retail after studying in Lithuania and at the University of Mannheim in 2003. in 2008, the native Lithuanian moved to an international engineering company, where she was responsible for IT strategy, applications and various transformation projects in the areas of Finance, HR and Business Intelligence until 2017. in 2018, Egle Juzenaite was appointed Head of Finance Operations at a Hamburg-based family business, where she was responsible for the SAP transformation and later the shared service centre for the group's IT, Finance, indirect purchasing, HR and facility management. From 2021 to 2023, Egle Juzenaite was COO of a subsidiary. Most recently, the business graduate worked as an independent interim manager.
