Jochen Brühl becomes Project Consultant

Jochen Brühl I Photo: Navina Neuschl On 1 November, Jochen Brühl, 57, (former Chairman of Tafel Deutschland) joined REWE Group as Project Consultant for Sustainability. He is responsible for Sustainability and Social Commitment and is part of Dr Daniela Büchel 's department. Jochen Brühl has been Chairman of Tafel Deutschland e.V. since 2013. Before that, the native of Westphalia and Essen resident was a volunteer at the food banks for over 25 years. Brühl is a qualified social worker, deacon and fundraiser. "Thanks to my many years of voluntary work with the food bank movement, I can now bring the relevant perspectives and challenges to the company - with the aim of achieving the greatest possible impact," says Brühl.

Florian Viehs leads Assortment Management

Florian Viehs On 1 November, Florian Viehs, 35,, took over the role of Head of Assortment Management, Store Space & Layouting in the Ware Discount CM Support division. Mr Viehs joined the REWE Group in January 2012. Since then, he has held various positions in assortment management at PENNY. Since November 2019, Florian Viehs has worked as Lead Assortment Management & Negotiation and, in his role as Business Owner, has also played a key role in supporting the implementation of analytical use cases as part of the analytics transformation in the specialist areas of Ware Discount. In his new role, Florian Viehs will lead the Assortment Management & Negotiation and Store Space & Layouting teams. The two leads Svenja Müller and Pia Postel will report directly to him. Carolin Manderfeld will also be part of his direct reports in her role as Senior Manager Negotiation & Projects. Florian Viehs will continue to report to Dr Kai Oberschmidt, Head of CM Support PENNY.

Daniel Jäger strengthens managing directors

Daniel Jäger Dr Daniel Jäger, Head of Logistics Development Delivery Service, joined the management team as Chief Operating Officer eFood (Delivery & Pick-up Service) on 1 November. In this role, he is responsible for the operational management and further development of the delivery & collection service activities. Jäger joined REWE Group in November 2016 as Category Manager for the REWE delivery service and has held various management positions in the commercial area for the delivery & pick-up service in the following years. He was most recently Head of Commercial before moving to the role of Head of Logistics Development at the beginning of 2023. Jäger will also report to Clemens Bauer in his new role.

REWE Digital Fulfilment Services
Meik Hunold appointed to managing directors

Dr Meik Hunold, Head of Expansion & Operational Excellence, was appointed Head of Operations Performance at the same time. In this role, he will take over the managing directorship of REWE Digital Fulfilment Services GmbH as well as the areas of Shopfloor Management, Building & Site Management and Operations Service. Hunold has held various positions at REWE Group since 2004 and has worked in the E-Commerce division since 2020. He was previously responsible for expansion and construction, quality management and internal auditing. Meik Hunold reports to COO Daniel Jäger.
Gero Hennesen, Head of Collection & Delivery Service for Retailers Gero Hennesen, Head of Operations & Collection Service, has been appointed Head of Operations Solutions. In this role, he is responsible for Process and Systems Development, Business Analytics, Equipment & Fleet Management and Operations AS/MLS and manages the holistic development of processes and systems for the delivery and collection service with his department. Hennesen has worked for REWE Group since 2014 and in e-commerce since 2020. He initially worked here as Head of Pick-up Service & Store Delivery Service. Gero Hennesen also reports to Daniel Jäger.

Annette Corsten replaces Annette Limmer

Annette Corsten, Annette Limmer Annette Limmer, Managing Director of Marketing & Sales at ZooRoyal Petcare GmbH, will move to the REWE sales department on 1 February. She will be succeeded on 1 December by Annette Corsten, 46, who, as Managing Director E-Commerce, Strategy & Marketing, will complete the management team at ZooRoyal with Clemens Bauer, Oliver Honisch and Marcel Bersch.

Retail International
Arnd Riehl moves to Vienna

Arnd Riehl Arnd Riehl, CEO of BILLA Slovakia, will move to Vienna on 1 January, where he will assume overall responsibility for the Retail International HR division as Head of Human Resources. He succeeds Johannes Zimmerl. In future, Arnd Riehl will report to Marcel Haraszti, Divisional Director REWE International AG. arnd Riehl joined REWE Group in Germany in 2016 as Sales Manager Discount National (PENNY). He has been CEO of BILLA Slovakia since October 2020. Before joining REWE Group, he was CEO of Metro Group Advertising. After more than 40 years with the company, Johannes Zimmerl will enter the passive phase of his partial retirement in mid-2025. Until then, he will support Arnd Riehl as part of his induction programme and take on project tasks in the HR area.

Marek Doležal succeeds Arnd Riehl

Marek Doležal, currently COO of PENNY Romania, will succeed Arnd Riehl as CEO of BILLA Slovakia from January 2024. He will report to Espen B. Larsen, Divisional Director BILLA CEE/IKI. After completing his studies, Marek Doležal held various management positions at Tesco in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As Trading Director Fresh Food and most recently as Managing Director Tesco Franchise Stores, he brought a wealth of experience with him when he took over the role of Head of Purchasing at PENNY Czech Republic in 2014. in 2021, he moved to PENNY Romania as COO.
Dan Crisan Dan Crisan, 48, National Sales Manager PENNY Romania, will also take over the role of COO PENNY Romania from Marek Doležal in January. He will report to Michael Jäger, Divisional Director PENNY International. Dan Crisan joined PENNY Romania in 2004 as District Area Manager. in 2007, he took on the role of Sales Manager. He has been National Sales Manager since 2013.

HR Management of DER Travel and Tourism Group
Britta Fischer replaces Stephanie Wulf

Britta Fischer, Stephanie Wulf At the end of the year, Chief Human Resources Officer Stephanie Wulf will leave DER Travel and Tourism at her own request to join an international logistics group as Head of People & Organisation. Wulf took over international HR responsibility and HR management of the HR organisation in Germany in 2018. Her successor as Head of HR and member of the managing directors of DER Travel and Tourism in Germany is Britta Fischer, 53. The experienced labour law expert has been with the company since February 2023 and previously headed up operational personnel management at DER Travel and Tourism Germany as Senior Vice President HR Germany. In her new role, Fischer will assume overall responsibility for Human Resources in Germany from January and will be appointed to the managing directors of DER Travel and Tourism Germany.

Nina-Anabell von Bülow heads international HR work

Nina-Anabell von Bülow As Director Group HR, Nina-Anabell von Bülow has taken over the expansion and responsibility for international HR work, which was most recently one of Stephanie Wulf's main areas of focus. This includes, in particular, the further development of a Group-wide HR strategy. Nina-Anabell von Bülow has been working for DER Travel and Tourism since 2017 and was previously Head of Strategy.
