On 1 December, Drasko Lazovic, CEO of PENNY Czech Republic, will take on the role of Chairman of the Management Board of REWE West, a position currently held on an interim basis by Jürgen Rölle, Head of the Sales Department for the Western Region, and Peter Maly, a member of the REWE Group Management Board and COO of REWE, Logistics and SCM, are currently holding in a dual capacity. Lazovic will report to Peter Maly. Drasko Lazovic joined REWE digital in July 2014 as Head of Expansion, Networks and Formats. In 2023, he moved to PENNY Czech Republic as COO. In 2025, he was appointed CEO. Before joining REWE digital, he held various positions at Metro Cash & Carry both in Germany and abroad, most recently as Head of Business Model Migration.

Mathias Mentrop, 49, CEO of PENNY Hungary, will take up the role of CEO of PENNY Czech Republic on 1 October. He will continue to report to Michael Jäger, Divisional Director of PENNY International. Following a career at Aldi Nord, most recently as Sales Manager, Mathias Mentrop joined the REWE Group in 2012 as Sales Director at PENNY Bulgaria. From 2015, he served as Sales Director at PENNY Czech Republic. In 2018, he took on the newly created role of COO of PENNY Czech Republic, with responsibility for the sales department, expansion and construction. In July 2023, Mathias Mentrop moved to PENNY in Hungary as CEO.

Philipp Stiehler, Chairman of the Management Board of PENNY South-West Region, will take up the post of CEO of PENNY Hungary on 1 October. He will report to Michael Jäger, Divisional Director of PENNY International. In 2013, Philipp Stiehler joined the REWE Group as Head of Category Management/Purchasing for Discount Food 2 at PENNY. In 2015, he became Head of Dry Goods for the Discount Segment at REWE Group Buying. In 2019, he was appointed to the management team for the Discount Merchandise division and, in January 2023, also joined the managing directors of REWE Group Buying GmbH. He has been Chairman of the management team of PENNY South-West Region since July 2025.

Andreas Löffler, 53, Head of the sales department for PENNY’s South-West Region, will take up the role of Chairman of the management team there on 1 September. He reports to Dr Stefan Görgens, COO of PENNY and Divisional Director. Andreas Löffler joined PENNY’s South Region as Sales Manager in October 2013. In June 2021, he moved to his current role in the South-West Region. Before joining PENNY, Löffler spent more than ten years at Aldi Süd as a regional sales manager and one year as a district sales manager at Phoenix Pharmahandel.

Markus Bobenhausen, Head of Purchasing for Ultra-Fresh (UF) 1 Fruit, has decided to leave the REWE Group for personal reasons. He will step down from his role with the REWE Group this autumn. The main reason for this decision is his wish to move closer to his home region in future. At the same time, Nico Wittlich, 36, will take over as Head of Purchasing for Fruit. Nico Wittlich joined the REWE Group in 2009 as a dual-study student and has since held various roles within the Fruit & Vegetables organisation. Following roles as Senior Category Buyer in Category Management UF1 for REWE and as acting head of Category Management UF1 for PENNY, he is now responsible for the Fruit 1 purchasing division as Senior Buyer. Until all the planned personnel changes take effect, he will continue to oversee selected product groups on an operational basis. Going forward, UF1 procurement will therefore be led by Nico Wittlich for the fruit division and by Patricia Hirsch for the fruit & cut flowers division.

With effect from 1 August, Marvin Bremicker has taken on the role of Senior Fruit Buyer, with responsibility for Fruit Category 2 within the Fruit Purchasing Department. Marvin Bremicker joins us from Absatzzentrale Kempen GmbH. Throughout his career to date, he has gained in-depth knowledge of the fruit and vegetable sector from the ground up and has held positions of responsibility in the areas of purchasing, the sales department and logistics for many years. Bremicker reports to the Head of Fruit Purchasing, Nico Wittlich. This autumn, Bernhard Niemann will take on the role of Senior Buyer for Vegetables, assuming responsibility for the Vegetables 3 product group within the Vegetables & Cut Flowers purchasing division. By taking on this role, he is continuing his career path within Ultra-Fresh 1. He has been part of the RWE Group for ten years. In various roles within Category Management and Purchasing, he has built up extensive knowledge and established himself as a reliable point of contact for internal and external partners. He is currently responsible for various product range tasks as a Category Buyer in the Fruit VS Category Management team. In his new role, Bernhard Niemann will report to Patricia Hirsch, Head of Purchasing for Vegetables & Cut Flowers.

Catrin Bluhm, 38, who was previously in charge of the Customer Relations & Sales division, took over responsibility for the Procurement Solutions division as Head of Division in July. She continues to report to Stefan Matzelle, CCO and Managing Director of digital. In 2015, Catrin Bluhm joined REWE digital’s Customer Service department. From 2017, she was jointly responsible for setting up, providing operational support for, and subsequently phasing out the ‘Marktplatz’ online business model. This was followed by further roles at REWE digital, in which she continued to develop her skills. In 2022, she took on the role of Chief Project Manager in the IT Projects division. In this role, she was responsible for the technical implementation of the REWE Bonus customer loyalty programme. Since 2025, she has been Head of the Customer Relations & Sales domain.
