Alexander Schmitz is Head of Tax

On 1 April, Alexander Schmitz was appointed Head of M&A Tax in the Tax division. He reports to Dr Friedrich Zimmermann, Head of Holding Tax Group. Alexander Schmitz has been with the company since 1 January 2020. He started as a tax consultant at PRO-DATA-Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH. He was appointed Lead M&A Tax in October 2022.

Controlling
Alexander Bösenberg leads Controlling Solutions

Alexander Bösenberg Alexander Bösenberg, previously Head of Controlling Retail D, took on the role of Head of Controlling Solutions on 1 April. In Controlling Solutions, Christoph Kremers (Head of Data Management Controlling), Ulrich Bressem (Head of Reporting and BI) and Andreas Boseniuk(Head of CO-Accounting, SAP CO-Masterdata & -Tools) will report to Alexander Bösenberg in future. The functional management of the "Toolsolutions" sub-division, which is currently still managed by Dominik Schneider, will also fall under the new area of responsibility. Alexander Bösenberg will also take on the role of Business Administration Coordination within the PENNY D management team. As part of this, Stephan Voigt will continue to report to him with PENNY D Corporate Controlling and Alexander Moog with PENNY D CM Controlling. Alexander Bösenberg will continue to report to Michael Meysing, Head of Controlling, in both functions. In addition, the following changes will be made to team assignments: Thomas Lackstetter, Head of Controlling Logistics & Real Estate Retail D, and Marius Behme, Head of Controlling Functions & Consolidation Retail D, will report to Ralf Klüwer, Head of Group Controlling. Guido Diaz, Head of Controlling E Commerce, and Ulf Kassens, Head of Controlling REWE, will report to Michael Meysing within his Business Administration Coordination REWE function.

Major logistics projects
Jan Müller responsible for project team

Jan Müller Jan Müller, 58, was appointed Head of Major Logistics Projects at REWE Group on 1 April. He thus assumes overall responsibility for the future project team and its strategic development. Jan Müller joined REWE Group in October 2008 after holding several positions in industry and the food retail sector in Germany and abroad. Since then, he has been responsible for major national and international logistics projects in various strategic business units. Since December 2018, he has been in charge of REWE Markt GmbH's major logistics projects "BeneFiT25" and "BeneFiT 2.0". He manages the projects for the strategic optimisation of the warehouse network structure for full-range logistics in order to future-proof the supply chain from the store to the supplier. He also coordinates the realisation of projects - from site development in the target regions to turnkey handover. In his new role, Jan Müller reports to Peter Maly. He will continue to report to Lars Siebel (Managing Director REWE Markt Logistik & SCM).

Fabian Günzel heads Business Operations

Fabian Günzel On 1 April, Fabian Günzel, 39, took over as Head of Business Operations for Own Brand Merchandise as Head of the Own Brand Merchandise Business Operations department. Günzel has been part of our company since May 2023. He started as a Senior Project Manager in the Indirect Spend Task Force in the Ware Non Food division. Before joining REWE Group, Fabian Günzel gained a wide range of professional experience in several positions at Inverto GmbH. He reports to Lisa Morawietz, who heads the Ware Own Brand Strategy & Operations division.

DERTOUR International
Leif Larsen leaves the company

Leif Larsen Leif Vase Larsen, CEO DERTOUR International and member of the Executive Board, is leaving the company at his own request on 30 April to take up a new position outside the Group. After his departure, Christoph Debus, CEO DERTOUR Group, will temporarily take over the international segment with the markets France, Great Britain, Scandinavia and Benelux. Larsen, who began his career with the former Kuoni organisation in 1999, has played a key role in shaping and growing the international business, particularly in the Nordic countries.
