
With immediate effect, Karl. J. Pojer takes over responsibility for the entire hotel division of DER Travel and Tourism Group. The manager, who has international experience in the hotel and cruise industry, will thus head one of the central growth areas of the DER Travel and Tourism Group. As the new CEO of the DER Travel and Tourism Hotel Division, Pojer will report to Dr Ingo Burmester, CEO Central Europe and member of the Executive Board of DER Travel and Tourism Group. As CEO of the DER Travel and Tourism Hotel Division, he will also be appointed to the Extended Executive Board of DER Travel and Tourism Group.
Pojer will continue in his role as CEO Travel and Tourism of DSR Hotel Holding and expand the close cooperation across the brands.
The Hotel Division of DER Travel and Tourism Group has recently grown strongly through acquisitions - including the complete takeover of the premium club brand Aldiana, the acquisition of hotel properties and the purchase of a majority stake in DR Hospitality at the beginning of January. Today, the hotel division comprises 10 brands and over 100 hotels, resorts and clubs in 14 countries worldwide. "With Karl J. Pojer, we have gained an extremely experienced and renowned top manager as the new CEO of our hotel division. He knows the industry and the business like no other. And we are convinced that he will continue to drive our ambitious growth course forward," explains Burmester. Pojer has worked for renowned hotel groups such as Kempinski Hotels, Sheraton and Pestana Hotels, Resorts and Casinos. His many years at TUI AG included positions as CEO of Robinson Clubs and Divisional Director of TUI Hotels & Resorts.
in 2013, Pojer took over the managing directorship of Hapag-LLoyd Cruises and led the brand to sustainable success. in 2022, Pojer was appointed CEO Travel and Tourism of DSR Hotel Holding and has been working closely with the DER Travel and Tourism Hotel Division in this role ever since. The multi-award-winning manager has been "Travel Industry Manager", "Seatrade Cruise Personality Of The Year" and received the special award of the renowned industry prize "Hotelier of the Year".

Pojer has had a long and distinguished career in senior management in the international hotel and cruise industry, with positions at well-known brands such as Kempinski Hotels, Sheraton and Pestana Hotels, Resorts and Casinos. He worked for many years at TUI AG, where his roles included CEO of the Robinson Clubs and divisional director of TUI Hotels & Resorts. In 2013, Mr Pojer took over the running of Hapag-LLoyd Cruises and steered the brand to lasting success.
