DERTOUR Deutschland GmbH acquires the specialist tour operator I.D. Riva Tours, thereby strengthening its offering in the speciality travel segment. With 55 employees, I.D. Riva Tours is one of the most renowned providers of tours to Croatia with a focus on cruises on small ships, group tours and holiday homes and flats. Subject to merger control approvals, the takeover is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2025.

Karl J. Pojer becomes new CEO of the Hotel Division

With immediate effect, Karl. J. Pojer takes over responsibility for the entire hotel division of DER Travel and Tourism Group. The manager, who has international experience in the hotel and cruise industry, will thus head one of the central growth areas of the DER Travel and Tourism Group. As the new CEO of the DER Travel and Tourism Hotel Division, Pojer will report to Dr Ingo Burmester, CEO Central Europe and member of the Executive Board of DER Travel and Tourism Group. As CEO of the DER Travel and Tourism Hotel Division, he will also be appointed to the Extended Executive Board of DER Travel and Tourism Group.

DER Travel and Tourism is continuing its investment in the growing hotel sector and further strengthening its commitment to the market for earthbound holidays. The hotel company of the DER Travel and Tourism Group, DER Travel and Tourism Hotels & Resorts GmbH (Cologne), has acquired a majority stake in DR Hospitality GmbH & Co. KG, based in Rostock.

In South Africa, wildlife sniffer dogs not only sniff out horn or ivory, but also firearms and ammunition. The DER Travel and Tourism Foundation supports this project. DER Travel and Tourism Foundation e.V. has launched a fundraising campaign to support the people of Rhodes affected by the forest fires. Every donation will be doubled by DER Travel and Tourism, which will also donate a further 50,000 euros.
