Following the voluntary increase in October 2023, we will voluntarily increase wages and salaries again at the start of the second collective bargaining year.
We are portrayed by ver.di as obstructionists, but through our involvement in the associations, we have constantly ensured movement and, as a result, numerous improved offers in over 60 rounds of negotiations. There is still no sign of ver.di's willingness to reach an agreement.
For this reason, we want to send a clear signal of appreciation to all employees in wholesale and retail. That is why - following the voluntary increase in October 2023 - we will once again voluntarily increase wages and salaries at the start of the second collective bargaining year for REWE, PENNY, toom Baumarkt DIY store and Lekkerland. This will result in a total increase of 10 per cent compared to the current pay scales. We would like to give you the certainty of what salary adjustments you can expect right now.
The table below shows you the date from which the increase will apply in your pay scale area. Should there still be a collective agreement, this voluntary increase will be offset against the pay rise. You will receive further details in good time before implementation.

A commendable behaviour on the part of REWE, of course not entirely selfless, as you save yourself large additional payments. Now please please please please use/offer/make the full special payment of 3000€! We are worth it to you, aren't we?
I can only agree with my colleagues - Travel and Tourism employees have generally had to cope with a massive loss of real wages in recent decades and many are leaving the industry. Collective agreements are only a very limited point of reference for today's job and labour market realities. Respect for this sign of the "mother" in her environment!
Every employee has earned this - but other professional groups receive significantly more. Question: does this also apply to the 400 DER travel agencies affiliated with Rewe? Because in the travel agency, the salary increases (for me only approx. 5% between 2002 and 2022 with simultaneous inflation of approx. 40% !!!!) pass by quietly with great regularity. The 5% salary increase promised last year for 2024 was "cancelled" again on the grounds that we didn't want to pre-empt the collective bargaining parties. However, everyone knows that Verdi is completely indifferent to our low level of organisation - so there will be no collective bargaining at all. Of course, the employer could give each employee 50 euros a month in tax-free "expense allowance". That would be a first step and a nice gesture. We would be delighted. Also because our monetary situation means that attracting good new employees simply doesn't work and paying existing employees less than new recruits would be really bad form.
Incidentally, your comment also applies to the REWE organiser brands, which are currently enjoying sales growth of over 40%.
