HR expert Charlotte Ehl is one of the ten winners of this year's "Goldener Zuckerhut" foundation prize for young talent. The 28-year-old received the honour in Berlin. One of the first to congratulate her was REWE Group CEO Lionel Souque.

It is the biggest honour in her still young career: at the "Golden Sugar Loaf" industry event, Charlotte Ehl, HR expert at REWE Group, has now been awarded the sponsorship prize of the foundation of the same name.

"It was an incredibly intense experience to reflect on my career to date, my motivation and my passion for people, culture and diversity issues," commented the 28-year-old on the application process and winning the award. "I am infinitely grateful for the diverse creative opportunities and development opportunities that REWE Group offers me with Lionel Souque as CEO and especially Petra Meyer-Ochel, Franziska Halstrick and Daniela Büchel. Thanks to them, I can grow every day and give my best."

Charlotte Ehl is an expert in human resources development and is responsible for the sustainability pillar of employees as well as for diversity and equal opportunities.she started her career at REWE Group four years ago with an internship in the Project Management Office with Management Board member Daniela Büchel. She then supported strategic processes for the HR department, gained experience in the REWE DNA project for the regions and in other change projects. As a Senior Consultant in Wiener Neudorf, she familiarised herself with Retail International and supported the introduction of the BILLA retailers model. in 2023, she started at the Cologne headquarters in the CoE Human Resources Development. One project that was particularly close to her heart was corporate volunteering at the Special Olympics World Games 2023. She was also actively involved in the development and introduction of Step up. Charlotte Ehl would like to invest her prize money in her professional and personal development.

The award

Once a year, Lebensmittelzeitung honours personalities who have rendered outstanding services to the food industry with the "Goldener Zuckerhut" industry award. In addition, the "Goldener Zuckerhut" foundation aims to promote the further training of qualified young professionals in the food industry with prize money. The foundation was established in 1990 on the joint initiative of trade, industry and the food magazine Lebensmittelzeitung. The foundation's income is awarded in the form of sponsorship prizes at the Goldener Zuckerhut industry event. The Foundation Board and Board of Trustees decide on the amount of the prize money. So far, individuals have been supported with a maximum of 10,000 euros and institutions with up to 20,000 euros.
