The Supervisory Board has extended the contracts of Marcel Haraszti, Michael Jäger and Christoph Matschke early until the end of 2025, thus expressing its confidence in the successful REWE International AG Management Board team. This team will be completed by Espen B. Larsen, who joined at the beginning of 2021 with responsibility for the full-range business in Eastern Europe (BILLA, IKI). This sets the course for achieving the ambitious goals of the coming years.

We have reorganised the administration, merged BILLA and MERKUR in Austria both as organisations and as brands, strengthened our activities in Central and Eastern Europe and Italy in a targeted manner and want to continue on this path of growth with full strength and stability," explains Jan Kunath, Deputy CEO of the REWE Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of REWE International AG. "We have exactly the right team for this - by extending the Management Board contracts until the end of 2025, we are confirming this course," Kunath continues.
Marcel Haraszti (46) has been on the Management Board of REWE International AG since the beginning of 2017 and is responsible for BILLA, BIPA and ADEG in Austria, BIPA Croatia, the jö Bonus Club and Corporate Communications.
Michael Jäger (50) is responsible for the PENNY International division, consisting of the discount business in Italy, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania, and has been a member of the Management Board of REWE International AG since 2013.
Espen B. Larsen (50) completed the Management Board quartet at the beginning of 2021. His area of responsibility includes the full-range business in Central and Eastern Europe and thus BILLA in Bulgaria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as IKI in Lithuania.
Christoph Matschke (47), a member of the Management Board of REWE International AG since the beginning of 2017, is responsible for the International Business Solutions division, including: Finance, HR, IT, Logistics & Radio Max.
