REWE To Go has opened the second 24/7 shop in a clinic in Germany at the Asklepios Clinic in Weißenfels, Saxony-Anhalt.
Employees, visitors and patients will not only find a wide range of food, snacks and drinks here, they also have a place to linger:
The store in the Asklepios Clinic in Weißenfels is the second of its kind in a clinic in Germany.
The brand new, 16 square metre shop at the Asklepios Clinic in Weißenfels makes it possible to shop around the clock and make cashless payments independently using the self-checkout process. The newly designed seating area invites customers to enjoy the food they have purchased on the spot, whether during a break or as part of a visit.
The 370 items on offer range from sandwiches, bread, wraps, salads and yoghurts to various coffee specialities, ice cream, sweet and savoury snacks and a small selection of drugstore items. Opening the shop to local residents during normal visiting hours is also intended to strengthen the local community.
Hannah Gilles, Managing Director of Asklepios Klinik Weißenfels, emphasises: "The aim of our clinic is not only to offer high medical quality. We also want our patients, employees and visitors to feel equally at home with us. The new range of services makes an important contribution to this."
Michael Mayer-Sonnenburg, Director Franchise & Convenience Stores at Lekkerland, adds: "We are proud to be able to contribute to the supply of meals, snacks, drinks and other products at the Asklepios Klinik Weißenfels and look forward to continuing our collaboration."
The shop offers a wide range of convenience products, with a total of 370 items to choose from.
Payment in the shop is cashless. Less tech-savvy customers can buy vouchers at the clinic reception - traditionally with cash - and then have them scanned and charged at the shop checkout.
The autonomous shop in Saxony-Anhalt, which is open 24/7, is only the second in a clinic in Germany. The first is in Düsseldorf.
In total, REWE To Go is represented at more than 900 locations throughout Germany, primarily at Aral petrol stations and other high-traffic locations such as train stations, airports and shopping streets.
