BIPA launches AI assistant for employees

BIPA has developed an innovative AI bot in collaboration with Google Cloud to make internal knowledge easily accessible to all employees in the shops.

The name Haidi sounds familiar. But the "AI" in the Alpine name reveals that it is something completely new. The innovative AI bot called Haidi has been supporting BIPA employees in their daily work at the store since August. They can ask it questions about all internal processes in a user-friendly search mask - similar to Chat GPT&Co. - and in their natural language, as "Haidi" speaks German, English, Turkish and Hungarian, among other languages, and automatically translates existing information.

New colleagues in particular should benefit

BIPA is the first company in Austria to migrate its internal knowledge database to a Google Cloud solution in order to make it even more user-friendly with the help of AI. The tool was rolled out across Austria in August and will then be available to employees in all BIPA shops with helpful answers, for example on exchange or complaint processes, information on individual products or the benefits of the jö app.

Haidi makes internal company process knowledge and everything worth knowing as easily accessible as possible for all employees. New colleagues in particular should benefit from this. The tool is intuitive to use and can be seamlessly integrated into everyday working life.

The new AI-supported system was initiated by BIPA and technically implemented together with the REWE Cloud Team in collaboration with Google. Extensive application tests by product managers and technical experts as well as test phases in selected BIPA shops ensured that the tool is ready for the Austria-wide launch and meets the needs of store employees.

Support for internal research

The new AI-supported system was integrated into the existing intranet and enables employees to ask questions in natural language. Unlike conventional search functions, the tool does not simply provide a list of hits, but formulates coherent answers, suggests suitable follow-up questions and links directly to relevant content in internal documents and manuals. Sample questions make it easier to get started using the system and make it an integral part of the existing intranet search.
