The 456 nahkauf stores have made a good start to the year. Especially in challenging times, the close customer loyalty of retailers, for whom traditional values and digitalisation are not a contradiction in terms, is proving its worth.
Donation to children's hospice
Together with their customers, the store teams from Central Germany collected almost 760,000 euros over two years for the children's and youth hospice in Tambach-Dietharz, Thuringia. Now the retailers have finally been able to hand over the cheque.

Rarely has the response to a one_contribution been so clearly positive as to our report on the "rescue lane at the checkout" in Ulrich Budnik's REWE supermarket in Dortmund. What unfortunately went unnoticed was that as great as the idea is, it wasn't entirely new. A fast lane for paramedics and emergency doctors has been in place at the REWE store in Somborn, Hesse, since the end of October last year.
