It doesn't get any better than this: in the prestigious "Supermarket Stars 2022" industry competition organised by "Lebensmittelzeitung direkt", REWE participants win gold in the categories of Store Manager, Store Manager and Team of the Year. Second place in the "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" award completes the outstanding performance.
LZ direkt" honoured this year's "Supermarket Stars" in a festive setting in Frankfurt's Palmengarten. Outstanding sales achievements with exemplary character for the entire German food trade were honoured.
The winner in the "Store Manager of the Year" category is Jennifer Kattwinkel from the REWE store in Cologne-Bayenthal. Passion and personal commitment - that is the 37-year-old's recipe for success. Together with her 103-strong team, she has the approximately 1,991 square metres of sales space at the REWE store fully under control. Working hand in hand and social commitment are particularly important to the store manager and her employees. She is also a trainer for young shop assistants and service area managers and her store is often a testing ground for REWE projects.

Daniel Ludorf is delighted to have won the gold medal in the "Store Manager of the Year" category . The store manager has been in charge of the 7,200 square metre REWE Centre in Heppenheim, Hesse, since January 2017 and is the boss of 210 employees. He develops them into entrepreneurs within the company through a high degree of decision-making freedom. In this way, he manages to score points all year round with special events such as the children's and Oktoberfest or a street food festival.

The "Team of the Year" comes from Wöllstadt, also in Hesse. The 47-strong young team at Manuela Kimes ' REWE store is highly motivated and extremely creative. All employees know exactly what needs to be done in the 1,950 square metre store in the morning. The colleagues are well attuned to each other. During the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, the lounge was spontaneously converted into a daycare centre. Staff turnover is practically unheard of at the REWE Kimes store in Wöllstadt. The store team always works closely together.
