Launch of REWE Group Star 2025
Sustainability competition for young talent

The REWE Group Star is a team competition for REWE Group trainees and junior employees who are keen to do good and win one of the numerous prizes at the same time. You can still apply up to and including 5 May and become a pioneer of Sustainability.

The voluntary sustainability competition is taking place for the 13th time this year. The aim is to work as a team to develop and implement a project that has a positive impact on people, animals or the environment. The winning teams (places 1-5) can look forward to travel vouchers worth up to 750 euros.

Registration - with your name and a note that you would like to take part - is possible until 5 May by sending an email to rewegroupstar@rewe-group.com. Detailed information on the application process can be found in the video.

Why take part in the REWE Group Star?

Sustainability is a fundamental value firmly anchored in REWE Group's corporate mission statement. The competition pursues the following goals

  • Strengthening the idea of sustainability among young colleagues
  • Strengthening commitment within REWE Group: Taking responsibility together
  • Promoting and developing the junior staff of the future
  • Appreciation of committed trainees and junior staff


And this is how you can register:

Participation:
All apprentices, participants in high school graduation and young talent development programmes, dual students and trainees can apply. Each team, consisting of three to five people, can register for the competition by sending an email to rewegroupstar@rewe-group.com by 5 May 2025. You will then be sent a registration form that must be completed.

The idea:
In your team, you will develop an idea that is characterised by a positive contribution to people, animals or the environment. You will implement this idea together and create a project presentation by 25 August 2025. The mentors will advise project teams from the respective business unit; small start-up funding is possible.

The jury evaluation:
Each project will be assessed by an independent jury on the basis of a project presentation using the following criteria:

  • Added value for people/environment
  • Commitment
  • Independent realisation
  • Creativity
  • Visibility


The award ceremony:
The 5 best project teams will be invited to the award ceremony in Cologne on 27 and 28 November 2025 with an exciting supporting programme.

The REWE Group Star

With over 200 projects submitted, more than 1,000 participants and over 70 winning teams, the REWE Group Star has become an important part of the Group's internal promotion of young talent over the past 13 years. The competition is aimed at junior employees and trainees who use their creative ideas to take an in-depth look at the topic of Sustainability and search for solutions.
