Commitment to greater Sustainability honoured

B.A.U.M., the network for sustainable management, has honoured our board member Dr Daniela Büchel with the Environmental and Sustainability Award in the large companies category for her many years of commitment.

At a major congress yesterday (21 November), B.A.U.M., the network for sustainable management, presented the B.A.U.M. Environmental and Sustainability Award to seven personalities who have made a special contribution to Sustainability. Daniela Büchel, Board Member for Human Resources and Sustainability, received the award in the large companies category.

Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Economic Affairs Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut thanked the award winners for their commitment. "Once again this year, the prestigious award goes to committed individuals in our society who have made a particularly exemplary commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development in their companies, institutions and organisations," Hoffmeister-Kraut praised in her welcoming address and continued: "They are all committed to the urgent issues of our time out of pure conviction and with a great deal of passion. You deserve our special thanks and recognition for your exemplary work."

"We have been awarding our prize since 1993," said Martin Oldeland, Deputy Chairman of B.A.U.M. and Chairman of the jury. "We deliberately honour individuals and not companies: We want to honour the work of those who are responsible for environmental and sustainability management, implement it with great commitment and can be a role model for others."
According to a study by the University of Hohenheim, the prize awarded by B.A.U.M. is one of the best-known and most coveted sustainability awards among German companies after the German Sustainability Award and the German Environmental Award. The certificates are regularly co-signed by the Federal Minister for the Environment.
