In search of young talent, BILLA sent a specially created, walk-in truck through Austria. Inside, interested parties were offered advice on all ten BILLA apprenticeships and an exciting escape game. BILLA has now been honoured with the VAMP Award for this innovative apprentice search concept.
The award for Ambient Media, Promotion and Digital out of Home from the Marketing Club Austria honours special ideas in the areas of non-classical advertising measures and digital outdoor advertising. The BILLA Transformer Tour took first place in the "Best Road Show" category and also secured third place in the "Best Live Marketing Activity" category.
Project meets zeitgeist
Harald Mießner, BILLA Management Board member responsible for the sales department: "With the BILLA Transformer Tour, we wanted to prove how modern and interesting the apprenticeship programme at BILLA is, and we definitely succeeded. As part of our tour from Vienna to Innsbruck, we got to know numerous young talents and received great feedback for our unique apprentice truck. Winning top honours in the categories 'best road show' and 'best live marketing activity' at this year's VAMP Award proves that we are in tune with the spirit of the times with our innovative measures. My thanks go to the team responsible for designing the truck and realising the tour."

Get in direct contact with young talent
Elke Peller-Kühne, Head of Human Resources Management at BILLA AG: "We have successfully expanded our portfolio of unique apprentice initiatives with the realisation of the BILLA Transformer Tour. The tour through Austria has enabled us to make direct contact with many young talents and position ourselves as an attractive employer with a wide range of career opportunities. I am delighted with the two awards we received at this year's VAMP Awards and would like to thank my colleagues who were instrumental in the success of the tour."
Apprenticeships at BILLA
Whether you are a retail sales assistant specialising in food, delicatessen or digital sales, a confectioner or an office administrator - BILLA's apprenticeships cover a wide range of different areas of work and offer a suitable position for every interest.
In addition, trainees can complete an apprenticeship with a high school diploma and internships abroad during the training period. As part of the training programme, BILLA puts together individual packages of measures for trainees that provide them with targeted support and encouragement depending on their abilities. Vocational school qualifications and final examinations with good results are rewarded with attractive bonuses.
There is also the opportunity to apply for a junior management programme after successful completion. A particular highlight of training at BILLA is the "Apprentices run stores" programme, in which apprentices take over the management of selected BILLA stores for a week. This successful project was implemented for the eleventh time this year due to the positive feedback from the apprentices.
