Online Annual Report 2020 honoured
REWE Group receives Red Dot Award

The REWE Group online annual report 2020 entitled "Moving times. Determined action." was honoured with the Red Dot Award in the "Brands & Communication Design 2022" category.

The annual report convinced the jury with the high design quality of its work. This is the fifth time that REWE Group has been among the winners of the world's largest design competition for its annual report website. The REWE Group annual reports 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019 have already been honoured with a Red Dot.

The award

The Red Dot Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world. The Red Dot Design Award is divided into the three disciplines Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept in order to be able to professionally assess the diversity in the field of design. With around 20,000 entries, the Red Dot Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world. The coveted "Red Dot" award is the internationally recognised seal of outstanding design quality. The award winners are presented in yearbooks, museums and online.

The Red Dot Award offers designers, agencies and companies a platform for evaluating design. in 2022, creative projects and brands from all over the world were entered for the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design. In line with the motto "In search of good design and creativity", the 24 international jurors evaluated the submissions and examined each work and brand professionally, individually and comprehensively. In doing so, they placed particular emphasis on the form, the idea and the effect. Only the projects that convinced the experts with their high design quality and creative performance received a high honour.
"The awards in this competition year show what good communication design is capable of: complex problems are recognised and transformed into solutions. Complex information is clearly presented and made accessible. The range of channels, media and materials used for this is exceptionally wide. With your design, you have prevailed in a large and international field of participants. Congratulations on this special achievement!" says Prof Dr Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of Red Dot.

Hamster purchases of food, return campaigns for holidaymakers and remote work at the headquarters: The coronavirus pandemic has left deep marks on REWE Group in Germany and abroad. In the 2020 Annual Report "Turbulent times. Decisive action." rEWE Group employees report on how they experienced this time and overcame its challenges.
The online Annual Report 2020 is divided into a multimedia magazine section with videos, animations and graphics. Moving image sequences on the homepage and at the head of the magazine articles visually pick up on the report's motto. The company section provides a comprehensive presentation of REWE Group's key figures. The REWE Combine Group management report and financial statements are presented and explained in a separate section.
