Next Sunday (3 July) it's that time again. Cologne raises the rainbow flag for Christopher Street Day (CSD). Numerous REWE Group colleagues will be there to set an example for tolerance and diversity. Your support is also needed!
Hundreds of thousands of lesbians, gays, transsexuals and revelers will march through Cologne city centre in a colourful procession next Sunday (3 July). The common motto: "For human rights. Many. Together. Strong!" The REWE Group will also be taking part. The LGBTIQ network di.to. (short for "different together") is taking part for the sixth time with an elaborately designed truck. This year, the truck was designed in PENNY red for the first time.
"We left the branding of this year's truck to PENNY, as SBU Discount National has supported us very strongly in recent years and we wanted to express our thanks to outgoing CEO Stefan Magel. The design of the truck is very well done and fits in perfectly with PENNY's fresh image," says Frank Bartels, spokesman for di.to.

You can be there too
Due to the pandemic, the CSD could only take place to a limited extent in the last two years. "We are therefore delighted that the parade can take place in full again this year. Over 100 colleagues and supporters of REWE Group will be joining us - whether on the float or in the foot group. That's simply fantastic. And we hope that even more colleagues will spontaneously decide to follow the truck or support us from the roadside. Registration is not necessary. Especially in these challenging times, it is important to set an example for human rights and against discrimination, hatred and prejudice. A DJ and the Cologne artist Julie Voyage will ensure a good atmosphere on board. REWE Group di.to. will take to the course with starting number 55. The starting signal is at 12:00 noon on the Deutzer Brücke," says Frank Bartels.
