REWE Group Top Employer 2022
"Excellent employee practices"

The Top Employers Institute has announced the Top Employers 2022: REWE Group has once again been certified for its exceptional employee orientation - for the eighth time in a row.

Companies that are certified as a Top Employer place their employees at the centre of their business activities and offer them an outstanding working and development environment. Six overarching Human Resources dimensions and 20 HR areas are assessed, such as "People Strategy", "Work Environment", "Talent Acquisition", "Learning" and "Diversity & Inclusion".

"It is important to us to be an innovative, future-orientated and sustainable employer. That's why we are proud to have been recognised as a Top Employer for the eighth time in a row! The process we go through as part of the application and award shows us where we are on the right track with our measures and where we can still make adjustments. This helps us both in the competition for the best and most capable talents and on our path to continuous further development," explains Dr Daniela Büchel, Divisional Director Retail Germany, HR & Sustainability, REWE Group.

The REWE Region South was awarded the German Skilled Labour Prize 2025 by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs for its REWEkombi programme, beating 400 other applicants.

Best ambassadors in the industry
The trade magazine "Lebensmittelpraxis" has honoured the service counter in the Nezlow family's REWE store in Waging with the "Meat Star 2025" award. REWE even won twice in the competition for the best young talent in the industry.

Sustainability competition for young talent
The REWE Group Star is a team competition for REWE Group trainees and junior employees who are keen to do good and win one of the numerous prizes at the same time. You can still apply up to and including 5 May and become a pioneer of Sustainability.

Industry Oscar for the Cologne wine cellar, which has now been honoured with the coveted title of "Wine Retailer of the Year 2025".

BILLA honoured with VAMP Award
In search of young talent, BILLA sent a specially created, walk-in truck through Austria. Inside, interested parties were offered advice on all ten BILLA apprenticeships and an exciting escape game. BILLA has now been honoured with the VAMP Award for this innovative apprentice search concept.
Timo Wedhorn, Lead HR Digitisation Target Image & Enabler and Carmen Kuhl, IT Business Analyst Expert, are delighted with the award.

The EHI retail institute has presented the REWE Group with the RETA Award in the "Best Enterprise Solution" category. The MeineREWE app for employees in REWE stores was honoured.
German Skilled Labour Award
REWE Süd nominated for integration of migrants
With its KIMAT integration programme, REWE Süd was one of the 21 nominees for the German Skilled Labour Award. In total, there were over 500 applications for the award, which is presented by the German government for outstanding approaches to recruiting skilled labour.
