The trade magazine "Lebensmittelpraxis" has honoured the service counter in the Nezlow family's REWE store in Waging with the "Meat Star 2025" award. REWE even won twice in the competition for the best young talent in the industry.

Alternative recruiting channels
13 colleagues have started their careers at PENNY Süd. We attended the launch of the partial qualification programme in Munich and spoke to candidates, store managers and political supporters about the benefits of the project.
Jacqueline Adams
Jacqueline Adams was almost 50 years old when she began her partial qualification as a trained sales assistant at REWE in May 2023. The registered nurse had already experienced a lot in her professional life - including in retail. Doing another apprenticeship now? Go to school? Study? The Berliner hesitated briefly. Today, she is happy with her decision: "Maybe you try harder, especially because you're no longer 20."
Start of training
Every year, thousands of young people start their careers at REWE Group with an apprenticeship or dual study programme - and the number is constantly growing. With well over 10,000 trainees, we are one of the largest training organisations in Germany.

The shortage of skilled labour is reflected in falling numbers of applicants. At the same time, there are around 1.5 million people who are unemployed and low-skilled. In the spirit of a strong community, we open ourselves up to people who fall through the cracks due to their biography or life circumstances and offer them a qualification programme to (re)enter working life.
German Skilled Labour Award
With its KIMAT integration programme, REWE Süd was one of the 21 nominees for the German Skilled Labour Award. In total, there were over 500 applications for the award, which is presented by the German government for outstanding approaches to recruiting skilled labour.
REWE Management Academy
Around 100 participants attended the presentation of certificates to this year's graduates of the REWE Academy senior managers.
PENNY graduation ceremony
On 10 October, PENNY hosted a big graduation ceremony at Phantasialand Brühl. Around 250 graduates from training and further education were ceremoniously honoured.
New trainees
All on board: whether in the store, in administration or logistics, whether REWE, Travel and Tourism or Lekkerland. We welcomed a total of 4,666 new trainees in all areas of our company. This means that we are currently training a total of 10,395 young people in REWE Group nationally - more than in the previous year.
Start of training
Welcome to REWE Group! Thousands of young people are currently starting an apprenticeship in administration or in the store at REWE Group throughout Germany.
