Welcome to REWE Group! Thousands of young people are currently starting an apprenticeship in administration or in the store at REWE Group throughout Germany. What they can look forward to and what is special about an apprenticeship at REWE Group is explained by "experienced" apprentices and dual students.

Why should young people do an apprenticeship at REWE Group? What is the best thing about it and what can new trainees look forward to? Nobody knows this better than the REWE Group trainees themselves. one_Film editor Ulrich Naber asked young men and women who are already in the middle or at the end of their training. He captured their impressions, tips and highlights in the film.

Off the beaten track
13 colleagues have started their careers at PENNY Süd. We attended the launch of the partial qualification programme in Munich and spoke to candidates, store managers and political supporters about the benefits of the project.

"I'm glad to have started training again at almost 50"
Jacqueline Adams was almost 50 years old when she began her partial qualification as a trained sales assistant at REWE in May 2023. The registered nurse had already experienced a lot in her professional life - including in retail. Doing another apprenticeship now? Go to school? Study? The Berliner hesitated briefly. Today, she is happy with her decision: "Maybe you try harder, especially because you're no longer 20."

The shortage of skilled labour is reflected in falling numbers of applicants. At the same time, there are around 1.5 million people who are unemployed and low-skilled. In the spirit of a strong community, we open ourselves up to people who fall through the cracks due to their biography or life circumstances and offer them a qualification programme to (re)enter working life.

A day with radiance
On 10 October, PENNY hosted a big graduation ceremony at Phantasialand Brühl. Around 250 graduates from training and further education were ceremoniously honoured.

Welcome, you 4,666!
All on board: whether in the store, in administration or logistics, whether REWE, Travel and Tourism or Lekkerland. We welcomed a total of 4,666 new trainees in all areas of our company. This means that we are currently training a total of 10,395 young people in REWE Group nationally - more than in the previous year.

Best ambassadors in the industry
The trade magazine "Lebensmittelpraxis" has honoured the service counter in the Nezlow family's REWE store in Waging with the "Meat Star 2025" award. REWE even won twice in the competition for the best young talent in the industry.

The REWE Group Star is a team competition for REWE Group trainees and junior employees who are keen to do good and win one of the numerous prizes at the same time. You can still apply up to and including 5 May and become a pioneer of Sustainability.
