Off the beaten track
by Judith Morgenschweis, Claudia Grenzer (Film)

13 colleagues have started their careers at PENNY Süd. We attended the launch of the partial qualification programme in Munich and spoke to candidates, store managers and political supporters about the benefits of the project.

In September, 13 colleagues at PENNY were given the opportunity to enter the world of work. The career starters were given the opportunity to become part of working life as part of a partial qualification programme. They are all taking part in the Recruiting Centre's project with the Federal Employment Agency and local job centres. This partial qualification as sales assistants for sales activities at REWE and PENNY has already paved the way for numerous people to enter the labour market. The project closes the labour and skills gap and protects existing employees from overwork. The aim is also to secure the next generation of managers in the long term. Participants are selected regardless of age or origin and receive an employment contract after successfully completing the candidate event. Our film shows how the new colleagues were welcomed by PENNY in Munich.

Interview with works council member Antje Brückner
"Everyone wins with this project"
Antje Brückner accompanied the partial qualification programme as a representative of the works council. Here she explains why she was enthusiastic about the project, where the works council can support participants and store managers and what tips she has for interested "imitators".
