With catering, service and a huge product range, the akzenta store of REWE Dortmund is "Store of the Year".
When you enter this supermarket, you immediately realise that something is different here. The akzenta supermarket at Phoenixsee in Dortmund invites you to linger with its peaceful atmosphere and integrated catering facilities. Freshness, quality, a diverse range of over 32,000 products and excellent service take centre stage and ensure a unique shopping experience.
This extraordinary REWE Dortmund store has now been honoured by the German Retail Association (HDE) with the "Store of the Year 2024" award in the "Food" category. This makes it the most innovative and beautiful supermarket in the country on the trendy Phoenixsee lake. Managing directors Andre Kolbinger and Ulrich Mazurek accepted the award together with store manager Anton Altenwerth at the Retail Property Congress in Berlin.
Feasting in the "Fuchswinkel"
"We are incredibly proud that our courage to break new ground has been rewarded and that we can now hold this fantastic prize in our hands," says a delighted Andre Kolbinger. The special thing about the store is the integrated catering. The in-house restaurant "Fuchswinkel" offers an all-round service. "We prepare our dishes daily with fresh food from the market and thus meet the needs and tastes of our visitors and customers from the neighbourhood."
The gourmet fresh food counters and the wine bar are just as popular. At the wine bar, customers can taste the wine of their choice on the spot and round it off with food from the gourmet fresh food counter in a cosy atmosphere. "Our special wine department awakens the desire for wine tastings and events among lovers of high-quality wines. We fulfil this desire with the wine bar. Our store invites you to linger," says Andre Kolbiger, summarising the innovative concept.
Akzenta am Phoenixsee is part of REWE Dortmund, was opened in June 2023 and fits perfectly into the neighbourhood, which is characterised by structural change. The design of the surrounding buildings was incorporated into the architecture and shopfitting of the store. "A perfect blend of tradition and innovation," was the HDE's verdict.
