Sustainability Report 2022 published

REWE Group acts in an environmentally and climate-conscious manner, promotes more sustainable product ranges, pays attention to fair dealings with partners and suppliers, takes responsibility for its employees and is committed to a sustainable society. The current sustainability report shows how the sustainability strategy was implemented last year - and which future challenges we are tackling.

With this report, REWE Group continues its sustainable reporting in accordance with the latest GRI standards. The report describes REWE Group's strategic approaches to its key sustainability issues. It documents the company's progress in areas such as climate protection, biodiversity, packaging, animal welfare and human rights compared to previous years using key figures and projects. As an important tool for dialogue with stakeholders, the Sustainability Report serves to steer and transform REWE Group towards a more sustainable future.

We also take responsibility for our employees and treat our partners and suppliers fairly.this year, we are presenting how we are doing this and what we have achieved in 2023 for the first time in a compact progress report.
Nahkauf promotes biodiversity
4.500 nesting boxes for tits, sparrows and co.
Little effort, big impact: Nahkauf stores promoted biodiversity in local gardens with nesting boxes for native songbirds. A campaign that encouraged the youngest customers in particular to protect nature.
REWE and Naturland
15 years of joint commitment to more organic
As a pioneer in the German food retail sector, REWE launched its strategic cooperation with Naturland Zeichen GmbH 15 years ago - a partnership that was intended to strengthen organic farming and make organic products accessible to a broader market. With success: around half of the now more than 850 REWE organic products, including all REWE organic meat products, now bear the Naturland seal.

Focus on cooperation with local agriculture
For nine days, we were guests at the Green Week in Berlin with our sales divisions and the Competence Centre for Agriculture. From 19 to 28 January, our focus at the leading international trade fair for food and agriculture was on direct dialogue with producers, politicians and consumers.
