New service
REWE now also offers vegan products in service counters

From now on, vegan products will also be available at the service counters in around 50 selected REWE stores nationwide. With this new service, REWE is once again underpinning its strategic claim to consistently support vegan nutrition and offer consumers the corresponding product ranges.

The vegan selection in the service counters includes plant-based alternatives to meat, sausage, cheese and fish. The range includes, for example, vegan salami and vegan liver sausage, vegan barbecue skewers and vegan steak, various mature cheese alternatives and vegan delicatessen salads. The new range is usually located in the delicatessen or cheese counters in REWE stores. The vegan products can be recognised by the V-Label Vegan.

"For REWE, promoting vegan nutrition is an important part of protecting animals, the environment and the climate. We are therefore delighted to round off our already extensive range in this area with the fresh, vegan products in the service counter. REWE is thus playing an important role in making a plant-based diet as easy and varied as possible for consumers," says Stefan Weiss, Head of Sales Department at REWE.

mariella Vagabundo The vegan area in the service counters is clearly separated from the goods with animal ingredients: For example, a disc ensures a clean, hygienic separation of the presentation areas and guarantees that where it says vegan, it really is only vegan on display. In addition, separate crockery and cutlery are used for the individual products. Separate storage and separating discs in the counter ensure that no contamination of the vegan products with animal ingredients is possible. The new service has already been launched in REWE stores in Berlin, Dresden, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Munich, Hanover and Hamburg. In total, the service is being trialled in around 50 stores throughout Germany.

Which markets exactly would be very interesting. Is it possible to find out somewhere?
