world Cinema Of course, Colin knows that Ray is not his cup of tea. Nevertheless, he falls head over heels in love with the mysterious, sexy biker. And to his own astonishment, he even succeeds. "50 Shades of Grey" in the gay community? Yes, but Pillion is much more than that. Based on the novel "Box Hill" by Alex Mars-Jones, British director Harry Light has made a feature film debut that anyone who has ever stumbled naively into great love will understand, no matter with whom or what. Romance, tragedy and comedy cling to Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård like latex to skin.

Alexander Skarsgård

chris Harris Alexander is the eldest of actor Stellan Skarsgård's six sons and one daughter. Born in Stockholm in 1976, he was already in front of the camera at the age of seven, but was put off by the hype behind it and tried his hand elsewhere. He returned to acting in the early 2000s and landed his first big hit as a Nordmann vampire in the series "True Blood". Since then, Skarsgård, who is as sexy as he is self-deprecating, has appeared just as regularly in American series ("Little Big Lies", 2018) as he has in European cinema films ("Melancholia", 2011, "The Moment", 2026).

Love - the eternal theme of art. Two films that could hardly be more different in terms of form revolve around extraordinary relationships. "Pillion" tells the tragicomic story of S/M love between two different collar sizes. In "Rose", Sandra Hüller turns herself into a man by wearing trousers, which causes a stir of historic proportions after the wedding. And in the series "The Testaments: The Witnesses", the sequel to "The Handmaid's Tale", June's daughters come together within 10 episodes on Disney+.

Rose

© Piffl Medien GmbH "There was more freedom in trousers" was one of the most memorable lines on the competition screen at this year's Berlinale. It came from the mouth of Sandra Hüller, who as the titular heroine "Rose" slips into this very garment during the Thirty Years' War. With it, she enjoys all the privileges of a man - self-determination, inheritance rights and property - and asserts them when she returns to her home village after the war. Austrian director Markus Schleinzer reduces "Rose" to black and white images and polished dialogue without any grand gestures.

schubert, ROW Pictures, Walker+Worm Film, Gerald Kerkletz In "Rose", Sandra Hüller wears the mystery of her character as a scar on her face and as a leg dress on her body. She is thanked for both when she is awarded the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlinale. She received her first Bear exactly 20 years earlier for the leading female role in the exorcism drama "Requiem". In the intervening years, the career of Hüller, who was born in Suhl in 1978, took off and became international. From mid-March, she can also be seen alongside Ryan Gosling in "The Astronaut - Project Hail Mary".

The Testaments: The Witnesses

© disney+/Hulu In the finale of the sixth season of "The Handmaid's Tale: The Handmaid's Tale", June begins to write down the story of her time as Desfred in freedom. However, the fight against the enslavement of women in the patriarchy of Gilead is far from over. Rather, it is carried on by June's daughters, Hannah and Nichole, who know nothing of each other until they meet with the help of Aunt Lydia. Author Margaret Atwood was so enthusiastic about the series adaptation of her novel "The Handmaid's Tale" that she wrote a sequel, "The Testaments: The Witnesses", in 2019, which has now been adapted for television by "Handmaid" showrunner Bruce Miller.
