We are dedicating May to diversity. Among other things, with exciting presentations and insights into our company's diversity activities. Organisers Franziska Halstrick and Charlotte Ehl explain exactly what Diversity Month offers and why it was created.
one: You are the organisers of Diversity Month, which literally offers all employees here at the company a wide range of opportunities in May. What exactly is it?
Charlotte Ehl: With Diversity Month, we are inviting everyone to take a closer look at the topic of diversity. This is made possible through keynote speeches at Teams, information material and also through accompanying contributions here in one.
Franziska Halstrick: We have always offered a programme for Diversity Month in previous years. This year we have some new highlights and we are delighted that so many people are supporting us in organising the programme.
Charlotte Ehl
one: How did you put the programme together?
Charlotte Ehl: When selecting the programme, we were guided by the diversity dimensions and are delighted that we can present many existing offers during this month. There is already so much on offer, but in a large company like REWE Group, it naturally takes time for everyone to find out about it. This is where Diversity Month helps us. And my personal highlight is seeing how much we are already doing in terms of diversity.
FranziskaHalstrick: We do so many great things as REWE Group, have so many committed people in the Group and live diversity every day in our stores, in logistics and in our administrative areas. So it's only logical to draw attention to all the offers, programmes and networks we have. Of course, this happens sporadically throughout the year, but bundled together in one month, under one motto and with communicative support, we reach many more colleagues. We certainly hope so.

one: Who can take part, how can I register?
Charlotte Ehl: All employees are welcome to register for the topics that interest them! And for anyone who doesn't have time to attend the team meeting of their choice, we have put together information material. This means that you can also deal with the topic at a later date.
Franziska Halstrick
one: What do you organisers expect from the week?
Franziska Halstrick: Of course, we want to raise awareness of the existing programmes, whether it's awo Lifebalance or the LoS! action aids, and introduce networks such as di.to. or f.ernetzt. We also want to provide food for thought with keynote speeches on topics such as "new masculinity" or "late careers", provide inspiration and engage in dialogue with colleagues.
Charlotte Ehl: I hope that with these impulses we can create more awareness and enthusiasm for the topic of diversity and attract people to topics that they have not had any contact with before.

one: More generally, how does this month fit into REWE Group's general commitment to diversity?
Franziska Halstrick: I would like to briefly explain why this month exists: in 2017, we signed the Diversity Charter as a company and since then we have focussed our diversity activities on five dimensions: Gender and gender identity, socio-cultural origin, sexual orientation, generations and physical and mental abilities.
Charlotte Ehl: In this context, Diversity Month is a kind of mirror, a tool for visualising everything we have been doing for diversity for years. At the same time, we are showing that the topic is so important to us as REWE Group that we are once again devoting special attention to it with an entire Diversity Month and are also constantly working on expanding our offerings. The enthusiasm and commitment to these topics within the company show how sincerely we stand behind diversity and live it.
Franziska Halstrick and Charlotte Ehl are organising this year's Diversity Month as part of their responsibility for the sustainability pillar of employees. Franziska Halstrick has been Head of Human Resources Development Retail Germany since May, while Charlotte Ehl has been a Human Resources Development expertin this areasince January .
