Ordered in the morning, delivered in the evening - the new Food Fulfillment Centre in Neuss is more than just the hub for deliveries in the region from Düsseldorf to Duisburg - including same-day delivery. The FFC is also another important expansion step in 2022.
The 14th food fulfilment centre in Neuss is also the first base for the planned expansion of REWE's delivery service in the Ruhr region. It is the third delivery service warehouse to go into operation this year. Three more are to follow.
With over 10,000 square metres of storage space, customer orders will be picked in the new food fulfilment centre and prepared for delivery by the company's own fleet of delivery vehicles with its own drivers. Households within a radius of 30 kilometres are reached from the warehouse in the Barbaraviertel district of Neuss: "With our new food fulfilment centre, we are creating new service options for the Düsseldorf to Duisburg conurbation: the ideal location in the Barbaraviertel district of Neuss helps us to reach our customers even faster. Same-day deliveries are now possible in the relevant regions," says Drasko Lazovic, Managing Director of REWE Digital Fulfilment Services GmbH.
Customers who want to receive their groceries on the same day can shop from the delivery region until 1 pm on rewe.de/shop or via the app and select a free delivery window from 5 pm. The service makes it possible to have orders from a selection of more than 10,000 products delivered to your home in the evening.
At the Neuss site, too, a team of trained employees ensures the delivery of top-quality food. From product-appropriate storage and careful preparation to prompt delivery of the goods while maintaining the cold chain, the entire logistics process of the order ensures that customers receive their goods in the best possible state of freshness.
