Slovak cuisine has a lot to offer: from hearty, comforting dishes to sweet treats that evoke memories of carefree childhood days. Today, BILLA chef Magdaléna takes us on a culinary journey of discovery and introduces two traditional classics.
It all starts with a real national dish: Bryndzové Halušky. The small potato strips resemble dumplings in their preparation, but are served with savoury sheep's cheese and crispy fried bacon - a rustic dish that has cult status in Slovakia.
Krupicová Kaša, a creamy semolina porridge that still delights young and old in Slovakia today, provides an extra dose of nostalgia. The traditional Semolina porridge is made from coarse-grained durum wheat semolina and rounded off with melted pieces of butter and golden-brown roasted breadcrumbs.
BILLA colleague Magdaléna explains how the dishes are made in the video - have fun discovering!
