Anthony Modeste not only delivers as an FC goal scorer. The football star has now also lent a hand with the REWE delivery service and delivered his coffee in Cologne-Niehl.
The lucky winner Frank Roggendorf with Anthony Modeste
Together with the Express, the REWE delivery service organised a competition. The main prize: Modeste coffee delivered by the striker himself. Winner and FC fan Frank Roggendorf from Cologne-Niehl was delighted with the successful surprise. And, of course, there were autographs on top.
The goal scorer took the time to fulfil requests for autographs
Training with real professional footballers, learning their tricks and skills - this dream of every young player has now come true for the D-youth teams from SC Fortuna Liblar 1910 e.V. and SC 1923 Meschenich e. V.: they were able to spend a training session with the Bundesliga professionals from 1. FC Köln. Under the guidance of Steffen Baumgart's coaching staff, the programme included a warm-up phase, goalkeeper and goal-kicking training and a final game. The ten to twelve-year-old footballers were able to go face-to-face with FC stars such as Salih Özcan, Dejan Ljubicic, Marvin Schwäbe, Luca Kilian, Ellyes Skhiri, Benno Schmitz, Kingsley Schindler and, of course, Anthony Modeste.
The excitement and anticipation of the 25 or so children was clearly noticeable during the first tasks. The longer Steffen Baumgart led the young players through the exercises, the more the excitement waned and the eagerness to play prevailed.
Clubs could only receive the training session if they were lucky enough to win a prize draw: To do so, they had to submit a small entry in a competition that showed how they are committed to diversity in their club. The two clubs were ultimately chosen from around 50 applications because they offer children from many nations, with and without disabilities, equal sporting opportunities.
