Every December, Works Council Chairwoman Yvonne Zoske-Albrecht collects donations for a children's hospice at the Lekkerland logistics centre in Hamburg - and many colleagues take part.
"In the run-up to Christmas, nobody at the Hamburg logistics centre can get past me without making a donation," says Yvonne Zoske-Albrecht with a laugh. Supporting the Sternenbrücke children's hospice in Hamburg is "an affair of the heart" for her, says the Chairwoman of the Works Council. And not just for her: "Everyone gets involved and everyone gives what they can," Yvonne continues. Last year, around 600 euros were raised in this way.
The "Sternenbrücke" palliative care centre is a place for terminally ill young people and their families that is financed by donations. A few years ago, the team at the Lekkerland logistics centre decided to do something good together in the run-up to Christmas - the children's hospice was quickly chosen, says Yvonne Zoske-Albrecht. During a visit to the centre, she was impressed by the work of the hospice team and the atmosphere, which conveyed a lot of cheerfulness despite the sad circumstances.
