Integration and job turbo
Four months after announcing the "job turbo", Federal Labour Minister Hubertus Heil visited a REWE store in Berlin. There, he met with HR Director Daniela Büchel and two Ukrainian employees to find out about the practical implementation of the integration of refugees on site.
German Skilled Labour Award
With its KIMAT integration programme, REWE Süd was one of the 21 nominees for the German Skilled Labour Award. In total, there were over 500 applications for the award, which is presented by the German government for outstanding approaches to recruiting skilled labour.

Basel Alhasan came to Germany as a refugee. he started his apprenticeship at PENNY in 2018. Today, the 26-year-old is a store manager with a team of 13 employees. We spoke to him about what has encouraged him along the way.
