Logistics manager in Hungary
Brigitta Vida manages one of a total of four logistics centres that supply PENNY stores in Hungary. She has been responsible for the warehouse in Karcag, which covers an area of 26,000 square metres and supplies 78 shops, for seven years. As a woman in the traditionally male-dominated field of logistics, she manages 200 employees.
Reconciling work and family life
Seven Business Areas and regions of REWE Group have once again been awarded the audit job and family certificate for their sustainable human resources policies. This shows that they are ready to implement measures to reconcile work, family and private life for another three years. We asked one Martin Czoske and Fiona Honig, representing REWE Nord-Logistik, what the certification means for employee satisfaction.
With the opening of two new warehouse locations, Lekkerland is taking an important step towards its goal of making its logistics in Germany fit for the future by 2030. A total of around 6,600 customers can be supplied from the warehouses in the Hanover and Kerpen-Türnich areas.
BILLA Slovakia, PENNY Italy
Two modern logistics centres show that we as REWE Group are also setting standards abroad when it comes to saving energy and moving purposefully towards climate neutrality. These are the facts about the new warehouses in Slovakia and Italy.
REWE is taking a further step towards climate neutrality with its first hydrogen-powered lorry, a Hyundai Xcient Fuel Cell. The vehicle is part of a company project on alternative drives in delivery transport.
Quality control specialists
Their relief was clear to see when they received their certificates: Just a few hours earlier, twelve employees from PENNY and REWE Group Fruchtlogistik had passed their final examination to become "Fruit and Vegetable Quality Control Specialists".
Ukraine transport
Neatly lined up, 20 tonnes of food and hygiene products were ready to be loaded onto two articulated lorries. The destination of the relief supplies: Ukraine. The transport was organised by "Saving an Angel", an aid organisation run by artists.
