Help for Haiti
Magdala, Rubens and Erlineda are inquisitive young people with hopes and dreams for the future in a country that currently leaves little room for dreaming and hoping: Violence and chaos reign in many parts of Haiti. Kindernothilfe's educational scholarships for Madgala, Rubens, Erlineda and around 240 other young Haitians provide a narrow path out of poverty and hopelessness. They are financed by donations from REWE Group and its employees.
Donations for aid projects
Train delays and flight cancellations on business trips can be put to good use for scholarships for Haitian students and the fight against rhino poaching. The donation of 60,000 euros for aid projects supported by the REWE Group is an impressive demonstration of how this can be done.
Aid for Haiti
Haiti continues to sink into chaos. The political vacuum is being filled by armed gangs who are fighting against each other and against the state - but above all against the people of this bitterly poor country. Displacement, violence, hunger and closed educational institutions naturally hit the weakest groups the hardest: Children and young people. One asked the head of Kindernothilfe Haiti, Pierre-Hugue Augustin, how the children's aid projects supported by REWE Group and its employees are doing.
Aid for Haiti
Since 2016, Kindernothilfe Haiti has been awarding study scholarships to talented graduates of the Collège Véréna, which are funded by REWE Group donations. Johanne, Leonardo and Maurice were among the first scholarship recipients, and all three are now looking to the future with confidence - their own and that of their country.
Toom and Little Home e.V.
Since 2018, toom has been supporting the Little Home e.V. association in building mini-homes for homeless people. Especially now, when it is dark and dreary outside, the residents of the Little Homes are happy to receive little things that are decorative and useful, such as cushions, blankets or torches. toom is therefore donating 40 care packages to Little Home.
As a premium partner, PENNY is giving away a total of 20 tickets for the Deutschland Cup. The ice hockey tournament, at which men's and women's teams can be seen at the same time for the first time, will take place from 8 to 12 November 23 in Landshut, Bavaria.
Aid for Haiti
In a country that is sinking into chaos, traditions are extremely important. That's why Pierre Hugue Augustin from Kindernothilfe Haiti recognises the importance of the Christmas party at Collège Verena. For one, he looks back on a difficult 2022 - and looks forward with hope to the coming year.
Little Homes
100 people build ten mini houses in ten hours: The Little Home association invited people to Berlin in mid-August to attempt this world record. The winners are the homeless people who will now benefit from the little houses.
Doing good and creating opportunities
As part of a team building day, the REWE Group document management team built a wooden house for a homeless person together with the managing directors of "Little Home e.V.". The organisation is one of the four recipients of the REWE employee donation project.

It was a year ago in July that the tidal wave devastated large parts of the Ahr valley. The house of Beatrix Schäfer-Hoffmann, an employee at REWE Schäfer in Bad Neuenahr, was located in the small town of Dernau. It was swept away by the flood. one visited her and her husband Wolfgang Hoffmann in their temporary home.
Black Mambas
During the pandemic, the all-female ranger team of the Black Mambas played a doubly important role: they protected the rhinos from poachers and, as the main breadwinners, secured the livelihoods of their families. A representative of the organisation reports.
