This year, REWE and PENNY are once again on the shortlist for the prestigious V-Label Award with a total of six products. The award is presented by ProVeg e.V., an organisation that is committed to the transformation of the global food system. The aim of the award is to make plant-based products more visible and to recognise their innovative strength and social relevance.
The products are assessed in several stages: Firstly, ProVeg experts review the submissions based on the criteria "Recipe & Health", "Marketing & Design", "Market Potential" and "Sustainability". The five best products in each category make it onto the shortlist and thus qualify for the next round - the jury tasting. In this round, a five-member panel of experts tastes all the food products in a blind tasting and rates them according to flavour, texture and smell. The jury's assessment accounts for 50 percent of the overall result, with the remaining 50 percent coming from the public vote, in which consumers can vote for their favourites online.
The nominated products are divided into six categories, including meat and fish alternatives, milk and dairy alternatives, vegan sweets and snacks and vegan non-food innovations. In addition, two special prizes will be awarded, for which REWE and PENNY also qualified. The "savoury" gourmet slices submitted by PENNY are on the shortlist for the Food Innovation Award. In addition, REWE and PENNY were able to qualify for the Own Brand Award with Food for Future, REWE Bio and REWE Beste Wahl vegan thanks to a large number of own-brand products submitted.

The public voting will take place from 1 to 30 November 2025 on the official voting platform of the V-Label Award. The winners will be announced at a digital awards ceremony on 11 December 2025.
