Since 25 July, users of the car-sharing and van-sharing provider Miles have been able to park for 60 minutes free of charge in Toom car parks at 15 locations. The pilot project will initially run until the end of 2022.
A major DIY project is on the agenda or new potted plants are to be planted on the balcony - transporting the shopping cannot work without a car. People who don't have their own car, especially in urban areas, like to use car sharing services in such situations. This is where the co-operation between Toom and Miles comes in.
With the largest independent car and van sharing provider, customers can choose between combustion and electric vehicles. Miles offers the advantage that the price of use is calculated on the basis of kilometres driven instead of time. As soon as a rental vehicle is parked, a parking fee is charged. This will no longer apply to Toom customers when they visit the store in future.
"We are seeing increasing diversity in the way our DIY stores are visited and purchases are transported. We are therefore very pleased that we have created another simple and more sustainable transport option for everyone who shops with us through our cooperation with Miles," says René Haßfeld, CEO of Toom Baumarkt DIY store. The pilot project will run until the end of 2022.
