At a cookery event with food blogger rosakochtgruen, PENNY shows that a vegan lifestyle is varied, delicious and easy to prepare.
PENNY is setting an example for Veganuary: with its Food for Future own-brand products, the discounter offers one of the widest and most innovative ranges of vegan alternatives to animal products. "For PENNY, Veganuary is an invitation to our customers to make conscious choices in a simple and affordable way. We are proud to be able to show with our Food for Future products that a vegan lifestyle can be both diverse and delicious and is very easy to prepare," says Dr Jan Flemming, Head of PENNY Marketing.

Double-digit growth
In October 2020, PENNY was the first discounter in the German food retail sector to launch a vegan umbrella brand with Food For Future. Today, the Food for Future product range comprises around 140 items, which are available at the usual favourable prices. Direct alternatives to meat-based products are on a par in terms of price, meaning that the decision to go vegan is no longer a price decision for PENNY customers "More and more customers are opting for private labels that are comparable in quality but lower in price. Food For Future is also benefiting from this trend and we are experiencing double-digit growth in terms of both volume and revenue. Thanks to our long-standing and good relationship with our suppliers, we can not only plan quantities precisely together, but also offer favourable prices," continues Jan Flemming.

Vegan alternatives in the discounter next door
In vegan January, influencer and chef Rosa from @rosakochtgruen is offering inspiration with vegan dishes that are easy to cook using Food for Future products. PENNY and MitVergnügen hosted a cooking event on 11 January at the Kochfabrik in Cologne, where the chef and influencer cooked one of four vegan recipes that she developed together with PENNY from the Food for Future products for the first time. "I think it's great that vegan is no longer a niche and that you can easily buy vegan alternatives in the discounter next door. I'm really looking forward to experimenting with the Food for Future products and sharing new dishes with the community," says Rosa.
Every week in January, she will publish a vegan recipe on her channel that is easy to cook with vegan PENNY products. True to the motto: with the vegan variety of PENNY through the Veganuary!
PENNY is also committed outside of Veganuary. With its own Food for Future brand, the discounter therefore offers an extensive selection of vegan alternatives to animal products all year round. The plant-based alternatives range from vegan fish and meat products to alternative dairy and cheese products - a vegan diet is colourful, delicious and anything but boring. The product range is designed to fulfil the needs of customers as well as the demands of the usual low discount prices.
With Food for Future, we have a real alternative that is not only quick and easy to prepare, but is also varied and delicious.
