Purchase finalised
DER Travel and Tourism Group takes over premium club brand Aldiana completely

Aldiana, the premium provider of club holidays, is wholly owned by DER Travel and Tourism Group: the takeover has now been successfully completed following antitrust approval. Markus R. Kempen and Max-Peter Droll will take over the business of the Aldiana Group from 1 June 2022.

The purchase agreement signed at the end of March was legally completed on 24 May 2022. The 50 per cent stake in Aldiana GmbH (Frankfurt) held by LMEY (Zug, Switzerland) was thus transferred to DER Travel and Tourism Hotels & Resorts GmbH (Cologne).

With the acquisition of Aldiana, DER Travel and Tourism Group is strengthening its own hotel portfolio. "We are very pleased that we are fully integrating Aldiana as an absolute premium brand into our portfolio with this step. This is another milestone for our growth strategy in the hotel business," emphasises Sören Hartmann, CEO of DER Travel and Tourism Group.

In the coming months, Aldiana's brand profile will be further strengthened and the portfolio of resorts will be further developed at a high quality level. "We see great growth potential in the high-quality club holiday segment in particular, which we want to leverage," says Georg Schmickler, CEO of DER Travel and Tourism Group Hotel Division. "It's not just the desire to travel that is booming - the need to travel more exclusively is also growing and premium holidays are therefore clearly on trend.
