
The start of the year is often also the time for spring cleaning. And this doesn't just apply to the household. You should also regularly tidy up your computer and email inbox.
There are numerous reasons for this: First and foremost, it is data protection. Personal data may not be stored indefinitely. For this reason, REWE Group's internal process stipulates that emails are deleted after ten years at the latest.
Furthermore, data volumes are not as visible as paper. As a result, people often do not realise their size. Hundreds of terabytes of data can therefore quickly accumulate in email archives. This takes up space and causes unnecessary operating costs.
1. Process emails regularly: Schedule fixed times in your calendar when you process and reply to emails. For longer communication threads, it is sufficient to keep the current email.
2. Folder structure: Create folders for different topics or projects. This helps you to keep an overview and find important emails more quickly.
3. Use the option to set up rules. Emails from certain senders or with certain subject lines can be automatically moved to the appropriate folders.
4. Reduce the flood of e-mails: Try to write fewer emails in general. Short questions can often be clarified in a direct conversation or via a phone call.
5. Regular deep clean: Plan routines in which you thoroughly tidy up your inbox. It helps to sort emails by date and delete very old emails. Sorting by sender in turn
