Group-wide climate protection
In March, REWE Group officially committed to the "Science Based Targets Initiative" (SBTi) and thus made a company-wide decision in favour of climate protection. Our ambitious goal: We want to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 - as an entire Group with our tourism division and the Austrian sales lines.
REWE and Naturland
As a pioneer in the German food retail sector, REWE launched its strategic cooperation with Naturland Zeichen GmbH 15 years ago - a partnership that was intended to strengthen organic farming and make organic products accessible to a broader market. With success: around half of the now more than 850 REWE organic products, including all REWE organic meat products, now bear the Naturland seal.
State visit to Germany
From the Bundestag to the farm: during his visit to Germany, King Charles III stopped off at the Brodowin eco-village. There he learned about sustainable agriculture and also took time for climate protection and representatives of the NABU Climate Fund - including our board member Dr Daniela Büchel.
REWE is taking a further step towards climate neutrality with its first hydrogen-powered lorry, a Hyundai Xcient Fuel Cell. The vehicle is part of a company project on alternative drives in delivery transport.
