Conditions of participation
By participating in the competition, participants accept the following terms and conditions and, in the event of winning, participating employees must inform their accompanying persons of the terms and conditions of participation and the data protection information:
1. Organiser
The competition is organised by REWE-ZENTRALFINANZ eG, Domstraße 20, 50668 COLOGNE (Z U - Corporate Communications - Corporate Brand/Sponsoring) (hereinafter: RZF (Z U)). If necessary, brands and emotions GmbH, Balanstr. 73, Building 9, 81541 Munich (hereinafter: b&e) will be commissioned to organise the competition.
In addition to tickets (admission tickets), the prizes from the competitions may include, for example, free entries for a running event, books from an art exhibition or merchandising articles from a football club. For the sake of clarity, the term "tickets" or "ticket contingents" will be used in the following.
2. Participants
All employees of a REWE Group company, including self-employed REWE or local retailers and their employees, are eligible to participate. Employees of the Z U department and their relatives are not eligible to participate.
Participation via competition associations or participation and entry services, automated participation and multiple entries (e.g. with different e-mail addresses) as well as participation with falsified identities or with identities of third parties are not permitted.
Participants may be required to provide proof of their eligibility to participate in the competition. If participants fail to provide proof of eligibility within the specified period, Z U reserves the right to exclude participants from the competition.
3. Prizes
The prize will be named in the respective competition in the medium in which the competition is published (in particular inside, website one.rewe-group.com, in the one newsletter, EDP) in the respective competition article.
4. How do I take part?
The method of participation is determined by the mechanics of the competition, which is explained in the respective competition text.
The following applies to competitions with competition questions: Participants must submit the answer to a competition question with their competition entry. The question or keyword is provided in the competition text in the respective competition article. The competitions are usually limited in time; the respective closing date for entries is stated in the competition text.
The following information must be provided when entering (e.g. via e-mail or Microsoft Forms):
- First name and surname
- Personnel number (if available)
- Group company
- Department / Specialist area
- E-mail address
- If applicable, the desired shipping address (street, house number, city, postcode)
- Any other information relating to the competition (e.g. desired time slot for visiting an exhibition; shirt size for a running shirt, etc.)
- If applicable, the name of the accompanying person (first name and surname) - for home matches of 1. FC Köln
- If applicable, the e-mail address and telephone number of each ticket user - for home matches of 1. FC Köln
If a private e-mail address is used, we require additional information about the employer in order to identify them as store employees:
- Address of the store / REWE Group company
- Telephone number of the store / REWE Group company
If not all the required information is included in the answer, the entry will be deemed invalid and no prize will be awarded.
The entry must not contain any indecent, immoral, defamatory, discriminatory or offensive content or mention or incite illegal activities. Participants whose entries contain such content will be disqualified.
5. (Image/text) Legal rights
If the submission of images or texts is part of the competition, participants grant RZF (Z U) the non-exclusive, free-of-charge legal right to publish this image/text in REWE Group media. This also applies to images showing winners that are made available to RZF (Z U) for publication.
By participating, the participant confirms that he/she is fully entitled to the rights to the text/image submitted or that he/she is authorised to submit/post it in connection with the competition. If third party rights exist, the participant confirms that he/she has been granted all rights to participate in this competition.
Examples:
If one or more persons are recognisably depicted in the photo, the persons concerned or, in the case of minors, their legal guardians must agree to the pictures being published in REWE Group media.
The same applies in the event that another person has taken the photo; in this case, too, their consent must be obtained.
The use of third-party images/texts from the Internet is therefore not permitted without the consent of the copyright holder.
By participating, the participant confirms that he/she has the relevant declarations of consent and that he/she can provide these in writing if necessary. If, contrary to the above confirmation by the participant, the rights of third parties are infringed by the publication of the response on RZF (Z U), the participant shall indemnify RZF (Z U) against any costs, in particular compensation payments to the injured party.
RZF (Z U) reserves the right to obtain express written confirmation of the granting of rights from the participant prior to publication.
6. Determination of the winners
Winners will be determined by drawing lots.
Notification of winners
Winners will be notified via the e-mail address provided when entering the competition. The contact details cannot be changed after entry
7. Prize transfer
The prize will be sent by RZF (Z U) or b&e, depending on the prize, after notification of the prize:
- By post to the delivery address provided by the participants when entering.
- By e-mail to the e-mail address provided by the participants when taking part.
- Tickets may also be deposited at the venue of the event and must be collected there in person by the winner.
By taking part in the competition, participants agree that their name and company name will be transmitted to the organiser for the purpose of depositing a prize/registering for participation in an event, if this is necessary.
In the event of an undeliverable prize, RZF (Z U) is not obliged to make any further enquiries. In this case, the claim to the prize shall be forfeited.
The risk of deterioration and accidental loss shall pass to the winner upon dispatch.
8. Exclusion of participants
RZF (Z U) reserves the right to exclude participants from the prize draw without giving reasons if they provide false or incomplete information, use unauthorised aids, are suspected of manipulation or violate the conditions of participation in any other way.
This applies in particular if the participant cannot prove the consent of third parties who have legal rights to the submitted text/image, contrary to section 5, or if the participant does not confirm the granting of rights in writing within a period set by RZF (Z U), contrary to section 5.
If the conditions for exclusion are met, prizes can be subsequently cancelled or prizes that have already been paid out or delivered can be reclaimed.
RZF (Z U) reserves the right to request a statement from the participant if it suspects a reason for exclusion. If the participant fails to respond within the deadline set by RZF (Z U), RZF (Z U) reserves the right to exclude the participant from participation.
9. No transfer of winnings
If it is not possible to transfer the prize to the winner (e.g. because the entitlement to the prize has lapsed due to the conditions of participation or the winner does not accept the prize), RZF (Z U) may decide at its own discretion what to do with the prize (e.g. whether the prize is awarded to the participants who did not win in accordance with these conditions of participation or whether it is not awarded and is used for another competition, for example).

11. Exclusion of liability
RZF (Z U) accepts no responsibility for loss of data, in particular data lost during data transmission, technical defects or lost, damaged or delayed entries due to network, hardware or software problems.
Any warranty claims by the winners are excluded.
12. Modification/cancellation of the competition
RZF (Z U) reserves the legal right to change or cancel the competition in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
In particular, RZF (Z U) is entitled to discontinue, cancel or suspend the competition if
- attempted misuse through manipulation is detected,
- proper implementation is no longer ensured, in particular in the event of hardware or software failure, program errors, computer viruses or unauthorised interventions by third parties, as well as mechanical, technical or legal problems.
13. Invalidity of individual clauses
Should a clause of these terms and conditions be invalid, the validity of the remaining terms and conditions shall remain unaffected.
14. Transfer, cash payment, legal recourse
Cash payment of the prize is not possible. Any winnings are non-transferable. Legal recourse is excluded.
Winning tickets or other personalised prizes are intended exclusively for the personal use of the winners.
15. Consumer arbitration
We hereby inform you that RZF (Z U) does not participate in dispute resolution proceedings of a consumer arbitration board and is not obliged to do so.

17. Passing on the prize
The resale of prizes (directly, online, etc.), black market trading and, for example, ticket speculation or similar are prohibited.
REWE-ZENTRALFINANZ eG reserves the right to take legal action under labour or criminal law in the event of violations of the aforementioned conditions.
18. Tax law notice
REWE-ZENTRALFINANZ eG will assume any tax liability incurred by the beneficiary through lump-sum taxation in accordance with § 37b EStG. The tax liability of the recipient is thereby settled.
19. Data protection and advertising
Personal data will be processed for the purposes of organising the competition, transferring the prize or ticket, announcing the prize, documentation, social security contributions and taxation. The data will not be passed on to third parties unless this is necessary for the realisation of the competition, the transfer of the prize or ticket, documentation, social security contributions and taxation.
By taking part in the competition, participants agree to their personal data being processed for the above-mentioned purposes.
By participating in the competition, participants agree that their personal data may be processed for publicity and/or follow-up reporting in REWE Group media (online, social media, print).
19.1. how long will the data be stored?
The data of participants in a competition will be stored for up to 6 months for a possible audit by Group Audit to verify the proper implementation of the competition and then deleted.
The data of the competition winners will be stored for 10 years for tax reasons. The following information is recorded for taxation in accordance with §37b EStG:
- Entrance / row / place
- Personnel no.
- Surname
- First name
- Employer of the recipient
- Department / speciality of the recipient
- name of the inviting party (company), if applicable
- Department of the inviting party (company)
- full address - SERVICE ADDRESS (private mailing address) (for external allocation)
- External / internal allocation
- operational reason for the invitation (specific occasion)
This data is forwarded to the responsible department for processing. The data will be deleted after 10 years.
The contact details of the winners of tickets for home matches of FC Köln will be stored for 4 weeks for possible forwarding to the responsible health authority in the event of an infection and then deleted.
If prizes are discovered for sale on a sales exchange, REWE-ZENTRALFINANZ eG reserves the right to forward the personal data of the winner determined from the competition to the organiser/provider of the prize.
