Pull on your trainers, get out for a walk or a jog, and do your bit to fight world hunger – that’s the idea behind the virtual #ZeroHungerRun-Challenge. Whether you’re old or young, fast or slow, on your own or in a team – taking part is what counts. You can contribute to fighting world hunger by running or walking for 30 or 60 minutes between 5 and 9 May 2021 as part of the second virtual #ZeroHungerRun-Challenge. The goal here is not to be the fastest – being part of a bigger movement is what matters.
The REWE Group is a Silver sponsor for the event and will be giving away ten Premium starter parks in a prize draw for employees. Each pack contains a start number, a digital certificate, a medal, a multi-purpose towel and a shirt made from recycled PET in a choice of sizes. This will help equip entrants for a run that has an impact beyond just the health benefits of sport. The prize draw and the challenge are open to all employees who are resident in the EU.
Taking part in the #ZeroHungerRun couldn’t be easier. Participants simply run for 30 or 60 minutes, track their route on a running app and then upload their run to the Welthungerhilfe portal. To count towards the challenge, your run must be completed and uploaded between 6 pm on Wednesday, 5 May, and 11.59 pm on Sunday, 9 May. Send in your entry for the REWE Group’s prize draw by 14 April 2021.
There is no registration fee, but you can make a donation when registering, and 100% of your donation will go to supporting the work of the Welthungerhilfe organisation. The global COVID-19 pandemic has made access to nutritious food even more difficult in many parts of the world. Welthungerhilfe is working to tackle these shortages through the provision of better quality seed and training sessions on climate-friendly farming methods.
