PENNY Austria and TierQuarTier Vienna launch a long-term partnership

PENNY Austria is now supporting TierQuarTier Wien with a sponsorship of 20,000 EUR. The partnership supports the work of TierQuarTier and, at the same time, raises awareness of the care and rehoming of dogs, cats and small animals waiting for a new home.

Under the slogan “Paw in paw for animal welfare. Together for animals”, both partners are drawing attention to the importance of animal welfare and raising awareness of responsible pet ownership and animal adoption.

To mark the launch of the partnership, a cheque for 20,000 euros was presented. The aim is for this support to go where it is needed most on a daily basis: towards the care of the animals and the valuable work carried out by the animal shelter.

“For many people, animals are members of the family, and that is precisely why it is important to us to take responsibility. Through the new partnership with TierQuarTier, we want to provide concrete support and raise awareness of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership,” said Johannes Greller, managing director of PENNY Austria.

TierQuarTier Vienna is one of the most important places of refuge for animals in need. As well as providing care, support and rehoming for animals, the organisation carries out vital educational work on responsible pet ownership. Since its foundation in 2015, it has found new homes for almost 18,000 animals. The partnership with PENNY Austria aims to further strengthen this work and raise awareness of animal protection, animal welfare and responsible pet ownership among even more people. Joint information campaigns and initiatives involving customers and staff are also planned for the future.

“Animal welfare can only be achieved by working together. Every bit of support helps us to provide animals in need with the best possible care and give them the chance of a loving new start. We are therefore all the more delighted about our long-term partnership with PENNY, which not only supports our day-to-day work but also helps to raise awareness of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership among even more people,” said Bernadette Altrichter, shelter manager at TierQuarTier Vienna.

PENNY Austria has also been setting an example for animal welfare in its day-to-day operations for years: since 2021, the company has been the first domestic food retailer to stop selling fireworks in its branches, in order to protect animals from the noise and stress associated with New Year’s Eve. The new partnership with TierQuarTier Wien therefore fits seamlessly into PENNY Austria’s long-standing commitment to animal welfare.
